I would definitely go with the MP3 player. I have one, I've had it for about a year and a half now, and I love it. I love having the ability to listen to over 150 songs on one CD... it lasted the whole school day for me, so I would never have to swap CDs out. $99 is pretty good for a sony product, but I think my parents paid like $60 for mine. It's a memorex, kinda cheap, but it works great. You can get an older Sony model portable CD player without MP3 support for $30 or less, but it's really your choice. MP3 is great for lots of music, and CD is great for higher quality stuff.

The best price right now is $270... U wont find this at CircuitCity or anywhere else... u need to order it off the web if u do decide to get one
There was a time when they were costing like $400... prices have come down... ever since the US model was launched
