asp error 0177
Hi All,
I have Server 'A' running IIS and website. Any client linked directly to
the site has no problem accessing it. The server also has SQLServer 2000.
I introduce Server 'B' also running IIS. Within IIS I create a pointer to
the website on Server 'A'.
using a client on Server 'B' to Access the website on Server 'A' gives me
the login page for the site. So this suggests that IIS is set ok on both
machines. I have also double checked permissions on SQLServer and all
looks fine there.
When entering a valid username/password for the site. I receive an ASP
error 0177. Microsofts knowledge base says this error occurs when you are
running ADO 2.0 but Site Server has a reference to ADO 1.5. It then goes
on to say that the reference is stored in a .prf file and to just simply
remove 1.5 from the reference. However:
1. We are not using Site Server
2. we are using ADO 2.6
3. I've looked in other .prf files and they are NOT somthing that can
easily be edited.
has anybody any ideas as to why we get this message? is it that we do need
site server installed.
Regards
Bill Crawley
