I already have C++ for Dummies, which got some mixed reviews on amazon... it's pretty much all console/dos C++, though. I'd like to advance to windows programming and then some direct3d/opengl stuff so I can make my own first person shooter game. Can you guys recommend some books for me at each of these stages? P.S., How much C++ would I have to know to create a game modification, such as a mod for Quake 3?
