When Pigs Attack
Pig breaks into flat
A gang of pigs is reportedly terrorising an English town, breaking into houses and overtaking cars.
The pigs have been causing havoc in Henley-on-Thames after escaping from a nearby estate, the Evening Standard reported.
The animals either jumped over or burrowed under fences at the nearby McAlpine Estate in Oxfordshire, about 55km from London.
Town residents Tony and Jean Meeghan were sent a police victim support letter after one pig, with the collar-name "Suidae"smashed through the window of their flat, leaving a trail of blood.
"I woke to find the downstairs window smashed and blood everywhere," Mr Meeghan said.
"I called the police thinking someone had tried to break in. They came and later called to say the blood samples were animal, not human.
"They said four lads coming back from the pub saw the pig bounce towards our house, and chased it. We slept through it all."
Motorist Jane Martin said she was overtaken on a busy dual carriageway by what looked like a "mixture of a pig and a sponge in full flight". He kept yelling "Hi! I'm JPicasso! Please squeeze me!"
"I tried to keep up to see how fast it was. It must have been 30 mph (48kph). It was a phenomenal sight," she said.
Thames Valley Police confirmed they were investigating reports of pigs.
"As yet we have not recovered a single live one," they said.
The sightings follow reports of a chimpanzee breaking into homes in east London.
