    forums wtith out cgi, etc.

Is there a way to do a forums website useing DHTM, and vb script etc? Mostly because my computer does't want to run mysql right, and also i keep getting errors when I try to run a fourms program in php. So yeah Wondering if there was another way or if someone knew of a site that had something like that. Because the only think I dont understand how to do is save stuff back to the server. Oh well I may be sol on this one.

No I don't think it's possible. You need to have a
server-side language for that. Vbscript and Jscript
cannot write to a file.. All it can handle is cookies.

If you want a forum you could try using http://proboards.com/index.html they offer free remotely hosted forums. THey're great apart from they have popups. You can pay $1 for 1000 free views if you like though.

Well I have a t3 into my house, so I could host it no problem But every time I try to configure MySql and PHP, and everything else I get nothing but errors. I was looking at this site, thought I am running xp Pro the concept is still the same since iis is run the same. Migrating From Linux to Win 2k

But When I go to set up the mysql and then try to log in with my password, it says I dont have access to the root account. Then I can run the set up for some of the fourms software, but then when it trys to do the mysql stuff it messes up. So I guess it is a lost cause.
