    In the simplest form isn't this the way you keep track of Buddies' IP's and how they are notified that a Buddy comes online?

    I think it goes more like this:



    This would cut out the need for the client to have database tools and rights and the server would be a more customized central point for everyone to go through and be aware of each other.
