    Help in vb.net web programming

    Hello!
I have a visual basic.net standard and have a windows
xp home edition operating system.I was wondering if anybody
knows a good web server site that is reasonably priced and
has reasonable support help. The windows xp home edition
doesn,t have IIs and I guess there is no way to obtain it.
I just want some practice writing web applications, if anybody
could please help directing me to a suitable server.
    thanks.

...right -- I did a little research, and it looks like none of the standard fare will run on XP Home (IIS, MSPWS). You could always use Apache -- http://www.apache.org , but I haven't a clue as to whether or not you can configure it to use ASP.NET. If you can't find a server, any webhost you can find that supports asp.net will probably not be cheap.

    windows xp home edition

According to the instructions that come with the visual basic
.net standard edition windows xp home should work fine. It,s
said that if the server has iis(and most net servers should) all
will be fine. All I know is that I tried to get onto the unisys server
(using the stupid one click method they have ) and had no success, but then again if you check the unisys forum there is
legions of people who are having trouble. What,s the option
switch to xp pro?or just return to my windows 98 and switch
to java(whatever happened to pascal?that was a great language.)

    SALUT!!!

Well, the only other option I could come up with was this, and it looks fairly iffy -- good luck :-)

ASP .NET support for Mono is starting to come along, so maybe we will see asp .net running on Apache sometime soon..that would rock!!
