Tacky for sure....but no more tacky than the republican party raising money for the next election by selling pictures of Double-ya on the phone ordering the attack on Afghanistan.

Handbags are tacky for sure, but that's capitalism at it's finest.

    Barrk,
    Where'd you hear that?

I heard that those russian dolls (that you open to find a smaller version)
that have depictions of Osama and various "axis of evil" world leaders on them
are best sellers. no accounting for taste.
    Merry Christmas

It was on the news last week.....all the tv stations and newspapers......the dems were raising holy hell about how tacky it was and the reps were saying that they were just selling a pic of him "doing his job" and stop the politicing...some families of the victims were up in arms and others were just miffed that the media were harrassing them to get a story!

The stuff that makes you proud!

It's stuff like that, and our legal system, that made me want to stay in Europe when I got out of the service. I should have learned to speak German or Deutch, or whatever it is.

As much as they hate to admit it, most people in mainland Europe can speak English...just look at Wally, Peet etc.

Well, I didn't find that to be true. The further I got from an Army base, the fewer people I could find who spoke English. Besides, I think it would be really insulting to the culture if I was working there (which I would have to if I stayed, right?) and didn't speak the language. It's like going into a 7-11 here and not being able to communicate with the person at the register because they only speak Spanish.

But yeah... I was definitely impressed by the number of people who spoke mulitple languages. Actually, I was impressed by the German culture overall. The Americans there called them rude. Actually, I think they were more politie. They told the truth and didn't find 20 ways to NOT say something like Americans do.

In America, if you have a booger hanging from your nose, someone will go through multiple hand signals and a dozen ways to tell you to go wipe your nose without ever telling you what the problem is.

A German would just say "Hey! You've got a booger hangin' out your nose." I think that's more polite.

You mean die Deutschen, then? (I think it's -en, might just be -e).
