ok i have no experience in this whatso ever i need to get some code which uploads a .txt document to some webspace i have, and then some code to download it back

eg chat client has changed ip, new ip is added to .txt sent to the ftp then another client downloads it again with the new ip.

looks good, but my knowledge at the moment is not enough to follow it :S, have you got just the code for a working ftp?

Probably this is a bit overkill...but try the link below my signature.
It's quite customizable for use and with ease of use. It can parse
NT server and Unix server's file listing. Upload/download, resume, blah...

cool, i download it but when trying to compile it, it kept giving me the error

compile error: invalid outside procedure

Could this be because i am using VB5?
