Msdn
I installed MSDN disk 1 and it asks for MSDN disk 2 so i install disk 2 and it says it is completed and done.
I open MSDN and try to search but at every attempt it says it wants to install Disk 3.
What is going on ? How do i get it work ? I have only two disks.

Re: Msdn
For Disc 3, flip Disc 1 over. For Disc 4, flip Disc 2 over.

Re: Msdn
Unfortunately, after successful install of al three MSDN disks MSDN will not start in the IDE F1 or menu.
I get a error message that there is a problem with no further explanation.

Re: Msdn
Was just in a similar position after installing in a new Windows 11 computer.
After loading VB and the full Service Pack 6 "wrap-up" I installed my set of 3 previously burned MSDN Library - October 2001. Installation [seemed] correct as it had no errors and asked for all three discs.
I got half-assed help always asking me to insert either Disc 2 or Disc 3 from that same group.
So I downloaded .iso images from here: https://archive.org/details/MSDN_Library_October_2001 burned to disc, ran install program on disc 1 and now have full help files including "see also" and other links without error.
While perhaps due to my ignorance I've experienced problems with the gymnastics required to install VB all related from anything but physical CDs. A USB connected CD drive of usable quality costs about $20.
If your work may ever involve a 3.5" floppy be aware that that only new external version presently available is an absolute piece of garbage; get a good-condition quality used one now before they're gone!

Re: Msdn
This is debilitating ! Cannot efficiently get work done and Google is no help, zero help to find answers.
Installed all three .iso file and still get unnamed error. Stupid message.
I can open MSDN 2001 from the desktop icon but it still complains that disk 3 is needed even though I installed disk three .iso.
On Windows 7 Pro. updated.
Similar problems and found solutions please.

Re: Msdn
1) Is there any utility installed in your Windows that hijack the F1 key? Try F1 in Notepad, Explorer, etc.
2) I select everything in MSDN to install even though I will not need stuff like Foxpro, Java, etc. Some files are small while the common files are huge. Total about 1.2 to 1.3 GB. Without the other language specific files, is about 1 to 1.1 GB. I installed everything so I will never be asked to insert disk anymore, which happened previously.
3) I think MSDN installed into default folders. To be sure about this, check C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\MSDN\2001OCT (or version you installed). If the files are there in 1033 folder, will clicking any of the .CHM file open them?
Add:
4) In VB6 Help dropdown menu, will Contents, Index..., Search... open MSDN?

What is the exact error msg? What is the caption of the error box? If possible show a screen capture of the error box.

Re: Msdn
1) do not know of one.
2) selected much but not all
3) OK
4) Can run from desktop icon but search cannot find what I used to find using selected item in IDE then F1. So from desktop is useless or at least I do not know how to find a control's help info.
