Resolved [RESOLVED] Survey Question - Happy Birthday Emails

Please respond with a short answer.

Sites like VBForum have a built in function where it sends Happy Birthday emails... We've been doing it for years.

In theory, it brings a few people back to the site..... Half of the people really like the emails since we're the only ones that remembered. The other half hate the emails and come back here and insist we stop sending it. Course, if they removed their Birth Date from their profile we wouldn't know when to send the email.

QUESTION: Should we "Continue" or "Stop" sending the emails.

AND - FYI - as you can imagine - MANY of the emails bounce back. So the sending and the bounced emails take up some of our system resources. (times eleven sites)

    A "Stop" from me, too.
    Not really necessary

Make it a site option to have/not have a birthday email with the default to not.

I didn't know it occurred. I'd say continue - it does no harm. If you do stop then I may have to send birthday cards to everyone on the forum.

I'd say stop just to see what uncle B ended up sending.

Otherwise, I'd be indifferent. I don't tend to forget my birthdays, and their getting to be rather more than I thought.
