Transfer music to iPhone
Hi folks,
issue:
My daily driver is a Laptop running Linux (Manjaro).
My mobiles are all iOS (iPhone and iPad).
I have my music-library on that laptop.
Since i'm thinking about upgrading my entertainment-system in my car to CarPlay, which would require the music to be stored on one of my mobile(s), thusly my question:
Anyone got any idea how to transfer music to my iPhone/iPad?
I do have a DropBox-account, so i was thinking maybe there.
Kinda like upload to my DropBox, and on my iPhone "download", "make offline available" (or whatever it's called)
No Mac available, no "bare metal" Windows-Box available.
though i do have a Windows-Guest in VirtualBox on one of my Linux-Machines.
Anyone any experience with connecting mobiles to a VirtualBox-Guest? (Via USB-Forwarding)
'cause, as a last resort, i could install iTunes on that VirtualBox-Windows-Guest, but as i said: last resort

Re: Transfer music to iPhone
Start with a different mobile device. Use Android instead. Apple deliberately try to prevent you doing what you want to do. Itunes for Windows is probably the worst Windows program many have ever used. Once again designed to prevent you doing what you want to do. I have spent hours trying and failing to transfer MP3s into ITunes and then synch. across. It is an appalling process forced upon you by Corporate bastards.

Sorry, but NO Android-Device will EVER darken my doorstep.
i was cured of the thought to switch to Android by my parents (since they have Android exclusively)

Re: Transfer music to iPhone
I can understand the pain of any bad experience of any o/s but it will be worse for you on iphone just because of what you are trying to do.
I have an iphone... I succeeded in the end but honestly, the pain.

Re: Transfer music to iPhone
I found it always very cumbersome.
I have a family subscription which includes increased iCloud storage but also Apple Music.
So we don't have the need to put external MP3 files on our devices

Edit: Just so that Itunes was mentioned earlier. So credit to those mentioned it. Maybe this? https://discussions.apple.com/thread...42?sortBy=rank

Re: Transfer music to iPhone
Reporting back: The Approach with Dropbox is out.
iPhone/iPad doesn't "download" the mp3 to "Music", but to somewhere else you have to chose
But regarding Linux and Apple i've found mention of "ifuse"
https://linuxcommandlibrary.com/man/ifuse
Not sure how stable this is, and if it can have consequences for your i-device
Will probably test it with my old iphone/ipad
