I'm so glad to be living in Germany. It's not extreme left or right. Parties work together for the good of the country even though they have differences, without lies, or spreading inflammatory and aggressive language towards each other.

What's been going on in the states would be political suicide here, with extreme cases being criminally charged followed by prison sentences.

That's interesting. I wouldn't have thought that from the news we see here in the US. But the news does tend to sensationalize thing. The ordinary doesn't make the news. There was a lot of coverage of the afd winning an election.

Oops... I forgot about the AFD.

What about the infertile old hags with empty egg cartons who can't get pregnant anyway?
You really are full of hate aren't you?

Edit>Seriously, quotes like this that deride and degrade groups are not acceptable on this forum and, although I picked out Dil's, he's not the only one engaging in it. If people cannot express their arguments without resorting to this I'm going to be closing threads and handing out bans. There's a lot of people in this thread who need to grow up.

I'm still curious on who covered the Playboy on Ross gif.
Care to come to the light?

If dil is full of hate imagine all the people all these years that called a few of us whatever hateful phrase imaginable.
For old hags, I'll admit I did not understand the post and the later responses so I'm staying out of this.

As a general rule I suggest calming down a bit. See what Trump will do and pick it up from there.

that called a few of us whatever hateful phrase imaginable
Except that they haven't. The reason you're outrage is falling on deaf ears is because it's entirely manufactured.

Case in point, the particular term you seem to have had a problem with more than any other is "Fascist". Do you know which user has used it more times in this thread than any other? It's you. And do you want to know who first accused the other side of being a fascist in this thread? That would also be you (post 193) although it was admittedly and clearly a joke. But do you want to know who first deployed it as an insult without it being a joke? That would be Dil (post 266). Further, I'm pretty sure he's the only person in this thread who has averred to anyone being a Nazi (post 296) to which you raised no objection. If you were holding the people you agree with to the same standard as those you disagree with I would take you seriously but you don't, so I'm not.

Honestly, given your own rhetoric of calling people paedophiles and traitors, your outrage rings hollow so I'm pretty much ignoring it.

    Re: Post election prediction

    Nothing to do with it.
Also who do I called paedophiles and traitors? Members on this forum?
I was talking about the thread that should not be named and very recently I was called righish , Trump lover aka fascist, I was called "sideways" a trans hater (why oh why do you have issues with trans? Very clever so I would fall into the trap and be stigmatized but failed), I was called a murdered on the non named thread (why do you spread false news and be responsible of loss on innocent lives). You think I've forgotten the attacks? You think that I gave a f? Clearly not from biased people.
Also to be clear that does not apply to you. If that was thought to be a personal attack. I wouldn't ever do that...Well maybe as a joke.

Also I'm not outraged. I'm very very calm as the world is shifting to the patriotic values.

I remember referring to you as being right wing in this post https://www.vbforums.com/showthread....=1#post5663177 immediately after you referred to me being leftish. So you are taking offence at that, but were happy to use the same kind of language about me?

I didn't call you a trans hater, but I did ask why you are so bothered by them. That was asked directly after you posted about wearing wigs and storming womens' bathrooms; your comment was in direct response to a post regarding transgender rights. Perhaps I misunderstood this as mocking transgender people and your actions had some other meaning...

He made the same types of claims in post 406, I pointed out they were false claims in 407. So this is just what he does.

Got to just enjoy the humor of it. This is funny,

    You think that I gave a f?
He doesn't care but repeatedly complains about it.

    Re: Post election prediction

Ye guys listen, if you don't think you have insulted me that is fine just don't complain about the opposite and really, really, REALLY, I don't give a f about your insults. I was referring to Funky giving dil the insulter awards as there are opposite insults that you don't think that they are insults just because normal people do not really care about your WOKE leftover comments (ooohh mega insult here) that they are diminishing by the minute.
And yes Plausi that was a joke, what else could it be? I mean , really? But you(plural) are negative biased as I've said in post xx12392131 (really you are looking at post browsing to make a point? That is timewaste but kudos. Also I consider you been more logical than few so) that was a surprising below the belt hit trying to pass me for a trans hater.

So as I've said in post xx13123 (again , wow) keep it up. The rabbit hole unite for a lust death burp of it's believes.
It's amusing and sad at the same time but if you are enjoying it.. Keep it up (and Yoga, don't forget Yoga)

    Re: Post election prediction

For someone who doesn't give a f, you seem to be getting awfully worked up about this.

Funny thing about jokes like that is that they are often at the expense of the joke's target.

You find it funny to make fun of trans people by wearing a wig and invading a womans' bathroom, ever considered that to a trans person this isn't a joke?

I went part browsing because it was directly relevant to what you were claiming.

I guess I should have just started ranting, making things up, and saying lol a lot instead...

    It was a joke.

Also because I'm seeing what some want to do here and that is push Funky to close the thread. I'm ending the "fight" and I will be posting news when they come out.

Good day (it's night here) and don't forget. Yoga, it helps.

(again I'm calm, I don't have any reason to get worked up since Woke is over. How can I prove that? Should I be giving web candy's?.. Oh sorry, Lol)

So we do live in a country were some people are above ths law:

Judge grants Jack Smith request to dismiss Jan. 6 charges against Trump, appeal dropped in Florida docs case
    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/jud...rida-docs-case

But really Trump is not that big an exception, just more public. There are different laws for the haves and the have nots. Always was, always, will be.

Well if there is one thing we can agree on it is that we are entering brighter days. The negativity is finally behind us, and even the mass media seem desperate to correct their course.

It even seems to be spreading around the world. People are standing up and saying "No more!" and beginning to clean up their back yards as well.

There are still a few running around with their hair on fire, but eventually the flames will have consumed all of the fuel there.

That is what the Dem where doing, they where blurring you family values and ideas on anything that might seemed to be out of their WOKE agenda. You are finally getting your freedom back and more and more people will realize that they have been conned from a small group of lizards (yeah, not that) as the social media will no longer be able to block all that is note cope with their instructions.

I'm not against optimism but sure I'm not sure who you think this "we" is. Over 48% of the people voted against Trump and I don't think they see brighter days coming.

People will always speak out for their values whether you agree with them or not. That hasn't changed.

Tariffs like that will only increase the cost of things to Americans, or limit the supply of the goods to America. Unless America can produce it's own products at a similar price to the imported ones then the costs will be passed on to the American population.

How is this a good thing for America? Will these tariffs apply to Chinese imports such as MAGA merchandise like hats and bibles?

I agree but we could be proved wrong. Take e.g. Steel. tariffs on Chinese imports will make it less attractive to buy Steel from them, making domestic steel more attractive. That might stimulate domestic steel production.

What I think this view ignores, though, is:-
    1. Domestic steel will always be more expensive than Chinese was without tariffs (if it wasn't you'd have been buying domestic already) so tariffs are inevitably going to result in a short term bump in costs. That cost will be passed to the consumer so will be inflationary.
    2. The US might stop buying cheap Chinese steel but the rest of the world won't. That means our manufacturing costs for steel based products (e.g. cars) will be cheaper than yours so our products will out compete yours in international markets and probably in domestic markets too. The inevitable logic of this is that you apply further tariffs to cars which may help your domestic producers (though at the cost of a similar inflationary bump to consumers as identified in 1 above) but will do nothing at all for your exports.

In essence, tariffs aren't there to help you the consumer, they're there to help domestic producers at the consumer's expense. If you think it's going to bring back production jobs, it probably will... but in a less competitive market meaning lower wages or being driven out by automation.

The reason China is eating your industrial lunch and putting you at a trade deficit is not globalisation, it's that their manufacturing costs are lower than yours. The only ways to protect yourself from this is to to either outcompete them in costs (i.e. lower wages or fewer jobs) or offer some technology or benefit that they can't.

It's worth noting that some of us are posting from a country which has recently undertaken probably the largest experiment in isolationism and protectionism in that last 100 years (Brexit). It's been an unmitigated financial disaster and it's proponents have been reduced to complaining that it was the "wrong sort" of Brexit even though it's the one that they implemented. And that's just the red tape - the tariffs haven't been applied yet but they're coming.

I think one issue is that if your country has been dependent on imports such as Chinese steel for any length of time, you might not be in a position to replace the imports with a domestic product. Are there enough factories and skilled workers to make up the shortfall at short notice? How long does it take to build new production facilities? Any longer than 4 years to make a return on your investment by be considered a waste as the next President could simply remove the tariffs anyway.

I think it was interesting that there was a surge in people googling what a tariff is the day after Trump won, which does indicate a lot of people weren't fully aware of what a tariff is.

Brexit was pretty much the financial (And bureaucratic) disaster a lot of people predicted, the fact it hasn't yet been as bad as some predictions is being considered a win for Brexit... I dread to think what it will be like here once the tariffs etc. are finally in place.

I wonder if there will be the same "buyer's remorse" after a few years of that moron Trump back in office. My opinion is the people that are so happy Trump is back in office don't really understand him and what he is about. And, forgot about all the chaos from his first term. Or, that he tried to overthrow the government.

I honestly think his main reasons for running again are twofold

    1. He just couldn't stand losing the last election - to Trump everything boils down to winning or losing, there isn't any concept of a compromise or both sides getting a good deal. His constant claims of voter fraud etc. just reinforce this to me, he just couldn't deal with losing.

    2. It was pretty much his best chance of not going to jail.

Next up...revoking the 22nd amendment. He probably has the votes to do it.

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he tried that next. Especially as he now is effectively above the law given the previous rulings.

After my last post I was hit with a wave of uncharacteristic optimism and thought, maybe they won't happen. I think they only get put on if we move away from regulatory alignment. Labour seem inclined to maintain RA so hopefully no new tariffs under them.

If that is the same optimism that you had that Harris will win, we are on a deep dive!

I want to get back to this. Sappy, I've never understood any of that. I know just enough about Friends to recognize what show that gif was from, but I didn't understand what it was about, so I had no idea what it related to. You've alluded to it in a couple subsequent posts, but since I never understood any of the earlier ones, I couldn't understand the later ones. I assume it's some kind of pop culture reference, and I don't claim to be all that well versed in pop culture, but that whole thing has gone so far over my head that the moon looks close by comparison.

Not wanting to be calling you Moti here, but what in the world is that all about? It's Ross, from a TV show called Friends that was pretty popular, I guess, but beyond that....I've got nothing. Please explain to this almost Boomer what that reference is all about.

    Sure no problem.
The initial gif was posted as a "pat in the back" response showing Ross patting himself in the back, holding a magazine the wrote 'Playboy'. After a couple of hours the playboy letters where covered with a blurred image that, of course, you would not understand that this magazine was a playboy. That was completely Puritan IMO, mind you it did not cover any nude picture just the letters. I was curious on who did that and why or more curious if the is any kind of algorithm doing that, so I asked. You responded first and by your 'ignorance' I knew you did not do that, generally I do not believe that you would ever do such and act. Not that it's evil but, would you do that? So no it's not Moti, I'm flattered but it was a fair question.

My take away is that it's an example of WOKE censorship. That photo is probably 20yrs old, blurring out things like Playboy cover has been going on since TV has been around. It's a lot less restricted now a days. The whole line of remarks is silly. Let's hope that's what they were meant to be.

But in this context, it sounds like he's serious,
Ross is holding a playboy and someone blurred the letters.
That is what the Dem where doing, they where blurring you family values and ideas on anything that might seemed to be out of their WOKE agenda.
Edit: Sap posted while I was writing this.

If the photo was edited after it was posted, then I completely understand why he was questioning what/why it happened. It would be a reasonable question, I'd also like to know.
