Re: Post election prediction
This is hardly unique to the US. You can find the same winds of change within Canada, UK, Germany, Australia, and elsewhere. The only real difference is that their convoluted governing structures are designed to minimize the impact of what the people want. They are far less democratic in nearly every sense of the word.

Putin's response was pretty predictable.
"We want peace BUT ....... "
Overall I think Ukraine being the first to offer a cease fire has worked out well for them. They got the US support back. For now.

"For now" is the operational phrase. The next person that has Trump's ear before anything important will be the next policy. There is a HUGE chance, our next US policy, will come from FOX news"

I'm not so sure. Trump has been notably silent since Putin's response and, given his previous positions, I suspect he may simply agree to Putin's demands no matter how unrealistic. At that point he will go back to painting Zelensky as the aggressor. I hope you're right but I fear you're not.

US support of supplies and intelligence has restarted. I have no idea for how long. I have no confidence in Trump maintaining his current position. I think restarting the support was just a way to stop all the negative backlash from his previous actions.

Yeah, he seems to be doing a lot of that at the moment. I'm pretty sure the flip flopping on tariffs is much the same. He keeps loading them on, the stock market tanks, his oligarchs pressure him to stop, he folds faster than Superman on laundry day and takes them back off again.
His comments on Greenland today were particularly unhinged. I think he actually believes that, if he invades, NATO would back him.

Re: Post election prediction
The NATO chief has already bowed out, saying this isn't a NATO issue. There is no "invasion" involved, in any way. Greenland voted to free themselves of the EU, and has elected more politicians favoring the US over Europe. Only time will tell whether anything really happens.
Canada caved on tariffs almost immediately, and "Canadian Tim Walz" of Ontario has probably ended his own career. Trump should stop teasing about Canada becoming a State. It has too many Canadians getting their hopes up. Carney is a monster, appointed in a manner reminiscent of Kamala Harris' undemocratic anointment as candidate for President. That entire circus is about a dying liberal faction trying to keep its grasp on power.

So you agree that Trumps comments were unhinged.
Greenland voted to free themselves of the EU
...in the 80s I'm not sure what you're taking away from that.
has elected more politicians favoring the US over Europe
My best guess is that you're referring to Naleraq... who lost. Again, I'm struggling to see your take away here.

You mean conservative, ex-head of the Bank of England, career financier, Mark Carney? Yeah, he's DEFINITELY a socialist shill.

Seed oils generally are better for you than butter. They're lower in saturated fats and don't contain lactose which the human gut is not evolved to properly digest. That's why lactose intolerance is so common. Coconut oils are something of an exception as they're high in saturated fats. This is not news and we've known that cutting dairy out of your life is a good idea for a long time. I wouldn't get hung up on it but, yeah, dairy's not good for us.
I didn't bother to watch beyond the first minute because it was pretty obvious from there exactly what ecosystem this particular limpet has chosen to inhabit.

I stopped using butter 20+ years ago. Not because of dairy but because I have high cholesterol.
I don't know what this has to do with DEI. But I didn't watch the video, did it prove diversity, equity, and inclusion are bad things. I doubt it.

Presumably not eating butter is "woke" or something.
More seriously though, twisting known scientific fact like this and framing it as being left wing is all part of the playbook.
If you can't argue with scientific fact, then just demonise it instead.

Use just gave a great example of PD's point.
Posting a video of someone giving their opinion, making claims as if they were facts doesn't qualify as scientific data.

The thing that confuses me about all this is that the Democrats would actually have a fighting chance if they simply let go of all the insane far left nonsense they adopted in the past decade.

Trump's approval rating is 47%. This ties his highest rating. So if it "JUMPS AGAIN" it just mean his rating was below that before. So what's that suppose to mean?

Ewoks are wookies. Endor was meant to be Kashykk but they changed it to make it more kid friendly and just transposed the syllables. I'd say it was the worst travesty committed in the Start Wars universe but it's been trumped multiple times since.

It means he dug upward.

For any country other than USA the Dems wouldn't even be considered "Left", never mind "Far Left". When simply wanting equality and decent state healthcare can be considered "far left" then something is seriously wrong.

You're quite right about this. The phrase "far left nonsense" only makes sense in the context of American culture. Out here it's just plain nonsense. There's no concept of left or right where I'm from.

Where in this thread did I mention health care? Why are you making things up? I have never once ever talked about health care on this site. As a matter of fact, I have never mentioned health care anywhere in relation to politics. It's simply not something I find that relevant to these kinds of political discussions.
Oh and btw, in my opinion you guys have a terrible health care system. For as long as I can remember whenever suggested that I might want to go to the US to live, I always cite the health care system as the main reason I'd never do that and the problems I have with it are non-partisan as far as I'm concerned. They have nothing to do with your politics.

Trying to be too many things is almost never a good thing. Either it's a kid show or a semi-serious space opera, I don't think it could be both.

I never once claimed you mentioned health care, why on earth are you getting all defensive over something I never said?
However, health care is certainly an issue in America - and the Republicans are seemingly trying to dismantle the ACA and cutting funds to medicaid. Again, targeting the poorest people in society.

It was in decline before that. The first episode was pretty epic (and followed a fairly well-trodden 'epic' story arc of hero coming of age), the second episode was an excellent second episode, and it's been downhill ever since.
Well, I suppose it hasn't been steadily downhill. Episode I was a low point, but there wasn't much of a rebound after that.
My usual boring signature: Nothing
