    ***Attention All Members***

    To put it mildly - I SCREWD UP this morning....(just now.)

    Many of you have seen the Spammers that are making 20 to 100 new threads - aka spamming the site.


    We happen to have an option that generally speaking, will ban a member and delete all of their threads with just a couple of clicks. Technically, it can only delete 50 posts at a time.


    Well, I accidently included Three ACTIVE Members in the sweep I just now did.

    According to my calculations here the list:

    Sam Dsouza - 1 post
    Erlkoenig - 23 posts - all of his posts
    Techgnome - possibly 4,059 posts of his 38,602***

    The system said Techgnome had 38,602 in the delete screen.... BUT it also says it will only delete 50.... His profile says his post count is 34,543 ..... So it's possible that posts in Chit Chat that don't count the same way as others are what is missing. He will need to look around and see if he can figure out what is missing.

    I'm almost certain that no other members are affected.

    I think it'd be almost impossible to get the IT guys to restore a backup.... AND we'd loose a ton of other posts that have been created since the backup was done.....

    I don't know what backups are undertaken (surely a minimum of at least one complete every 7 days?), but surely any decent recovery system will enable posts by member(s) that don't exist to be restored from backup(s)?

    BWHAHAHA!! I have overtaken TechGnome! My plan has come together nicely

    He will NEVER figure out what was removed, and will have to toil for months re-creating all of his Chit-Chat posts. BWAHAHAHAAAA!!!

    Wow... did not see that coming... or going as it were. As for figuring out what was removed... there wasn't much in the last 48 hours, beyond that I doubt I had much of any value worth saying, let alone keeping.
