How can I access custom document properties of a parent document from a macro in a document that has been inserted into that parent document?

After you insert the document, does the macro code also get inserted?

There is a way to update the macro code of a document, but this is often blocked, as it can be used by hackers for unwanted purposes.

What is the end goal? If you just want to add or updated custom document properties, this should not be necessary.
