Re: Very slow access
There did not appear to be any abnormal delays today. Lets hope the source of the problem has been identified and fixed.

Now 504 errors again with 1193 users - so it doesn't seem related to users on-line

Things were great yesterday (Sunday from 3pm Eastern until about 6ish)... today... not so much. 8:30am Eastern. Had the First byte 504 error a couple times in 5 minutes.
DB issues? Server Issues? VBulletin issues? Haven't really been keeping up with this thread.

Also I wanted to ask if this is related.
I don't think I've used my phone to get to the forum in years but I wanted to today and I get access restricted. Is this another issue or you have closed non US ports to lower the traffic?

Yeah. The access is restricted by home wifi, gym wifi and 5G phone provider. So I don't know.
Of course on PC or at the sea house I can reach you OK.

Yeah, It's the same for me. Actions get completed and the error occurs when trying to re-display.

IMO it's not consistent. Sometimes the page load times are fine, at other times you'd think the data was being delivered by carrier pigeon..........

Re: Very slow access
In theory - we should mostly be fine now.... Keeping in mind that there are Eleven forum sites. The biggest culprit were the BOTS that were crawling the sites... VBF wasn't getting hit like several of the sites. The following is from one sister site that went from being very quiet to being very popular.
Currently Active Users
There are currently 410 users online. 1 members and 409 guests
Most users ever online was 42,661, 07-17-2024 at 01:44 PM.
They still have some tweaking to do, but need to work on the other sites first.

It would be useful if under Quick Links there were link entries to the other sites.

Good stuff. Those links should be available to all forums! Quite a community. I'd rather have a module displaying those links rather than an advert for something I will never click upon.

No - don't mark as resolved! That will only hex it - it's been OK for a few days.... If we now do nothing about this it might continue OK...

I had no issues at all for the last two weeks. Of course, I was also off in the woods for those same two weeks, which probably had something to do with it. Still, since I've gotten back, it has been quite good.
