[RESOLVED] Very slow access
I'm getting a very slow response from this site. Between 20 and 30 seconds to access anything on the site with occasional 504 Gateway timeouts. Ping reports a round-trip time of 15ms.
Is this already known and being investigated?
PS. I'm using Firefox and other non-related sites have expected fast responses.
NB When updating this post I got the error:
Error 503 first byte timeout
first byte timeout
Error 54113
Details: cache-chi-kigq8000037-CHI 1709052996 3913193284
but the post had been updated OK.

The slowness happens to me too. It seems something is being cooked then the page is displayed fast.

This morning this site and the ten other sister sites have very good response times.
Will continue to monitor.

I don't know if they fixed something or if this is part of the intermittent process we've been seeing.... Time will tell.

Why not on each one provide a ribbon of links to all the others?

These are computers. Fixing problems is essentially a game of whack-a-mole.
Does that even translate across the pond? The only place I know of that game ever existing was in Chuck e Cheese restaurants, a place I never visited, so I only knew it by reputation (both the game and the establishment). It couldn't be known only from there, could it?

Luckily we don't really care what they run.
But the good news is that they did do a fix so in theory, these nice speeds should be here awhile.

Late reply, but the site has been working fine the last few days. And, I know about whack-a-mole from tv. :-) :-)

Re: Very slow access
The good news is that the guys actually get alarms when a lot of these Errors pop up... The bad news is that the source of the issue hasn't been discovered "yet".

Does clicking on View Forum Leaders mess anyone up? I get an error 503 or 504 every time on any site.
Wi-fi went down for five minutes, so I had to talk to my family....They seem like nice people.

The 503 type of errors actually show up/are logged and are monitored by the IT guys.
I sent them an email this morning asking if they can make the errors go away.

Re: Very slow access
Sluggish again tonight, got a cache server timeout error earlier. There's an underlying slowness in general where, as you navigate the site, there is, at minimum, a consistent perceptible pause between pages. The pause sometimes is painfully long, but always seems present.

Re: Very slow access
Multiple 504 Gateway Timeout's in the past few minutes, and when pages do load there is significant sluggishness.
