Shooter's father arrested, multiple charges including second degree murder. Seems to be a trend in these cases now, which might be a good thing if it causes other parents of troubled children to more proactive in reporting them if things seem to be spiraling out of control.

That is one way the republicans can get around pissing off the NRA and the gun lobbies. Flood the country with guns and blame the parents when people get shot. Here is what Republican VP contender J. D. Vance had to say about it:
“I don’t like to admit this. I don’t like that this is a fact of life,” Vance said at a rally in Phoenix where he offered prayers for the victims.
See...so stop reporting on it.

Republicans? Oh, those people who endorse Kamala Harris. Your associates of Bush, Cheney, McCain, Romney, et al. - who also endorsed Biden the last time around.

Re: Why is this front news anymore?
The father being arrested is interesting. It's not clear what the dad was aware of. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...ici-rcna169704
Though I'm against giving any 14yr old an assault rifle. It's not a crime. I guess the question should be was there a reason for him to believe his son was unstable. From experience I can say seeming unstable at 14yr is common. Which is why I'm also against trying 14yr old as an adult. Hopefully there will be more information on whether he new his son had made the threats or not.
It does surprise me that we're still not capable of tracking the IP address of the poster.

They were BOTH interviewed last year when the threats were made, AND he told the investigators, that, yes his son owned a couple rifles....

That's true but at the time no one seemed sure his son had made those threats. In hindsight it's reasonable to conclude it was him. Did the father actually know??
If he didn't then what is the crime? I'm all for stronger gun laws, make it illegal to give a 14yr old an assault rifle. I think hoping parents will know whether it's safe for their 14yr old to have a gun or not is a bad system. Even parents that work hard at trying to know their children can be unaware of the full extent of their child problems.
I just wish their was a political will to get our gun problem under control. Probably it's our fault for making it political suicide to push for stronger gun laws.

Alan Dershowitz, one of the country's most well-known Democrats, explains how the scene at the Democratic National Convention has finally caused him to leave the political party he has been a part of for his entire life.
Will anyone be left come November?

There are objectively a lot more Republicans crossing the aisle than there are Democrats. Your TDS is preventing you from observing reality.

Dil, I'm sure the victim's parents and parents of tramatized kids of the Georgia school shooting tragedy will remain hardcore Republicans come November. Thought and prayers always keeps them onboard.
If they all leave the Republican party, no problem! The Dems lost Alan Dershowitz, so that makes up for all these lost votes.
