Because you're on Win 7, could it be this?

First, if you're NOT using Windows 11, you might need to install the WebView2 Runtime from Microsoft. Some products, like Office 365 now pre-install WebView2 for you, so you might not need this step. Here is a link for the official WebView2 runtime:

Woo Hoo, we finally have another Twin Basic thread rather than just tacking everything onto the one thread. I've long pushed for that.

This error comes about due to not having all Win 7 updates installed. Unfortunately, I don't recall which updates specifically, but if you make sure you have all OS updates installed, the problem should rectify itself.

Possibly because of the following? EventSetInformation function -> Minimum supported client Windows 8 [desktop apps | UWP apps] -> https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/wi...setinformation

EventSetInformation was included in one of the Win 7 updates, despite the documentation not indicating this.

You could be right. Was it maybe these Win7 updates?

    Re: Fail to install twinBASIC

I had read about these Win7 updates in connection with the missing entry point in another forum. A prerequisite for these updates is that Win7 SP1 is also installed. Maybe I'll get around to checking my fully patched Win7 VM to see if advapi32.dll contains this entry point.

Edit: WaynePhillipsEA is right. The entry point EventSetInformation is available in the Win7 advapi32.dll. Ordinal = &H4F9 (1273). File version = 6.1.7601.24545. Then you are probably missing some Win7 updates.
