Oh yes, that happened to me a few times. A particular thread seems to the source of the problem as it did not occur in general. This site replacing each picture with it's own version of the image that in itself was invalid. Going in an re-editing and putting the link in a different place seemed to help me. I imagined it was any image that was the first thing it encountered that it often seemed to want to replace. It did not occur often but when it did it was persistent.
I find riding an ebike to the pub solves the problem. Last time I visited four pubs.
