    We Didn't Start the Fire

I hope that all our UK members are safe and not ablaze.

Greece is burning from top to bottom but I don't see any sympathy there.

I wasn't aware of that. But I just consider the "UK" pretty much any of Europe since there's a strong chance they colonized it at some point in the past thousand or so years. /s

I hope that y'all are safe too.

    No, simply no.
So, Greece colonized the entire world at some point so we are pretty much any of the globe?

We are safe as long as we don't live in a house that has trees around. The idiots in the government civil protection are unable to do anything for years now.
They also imposed an embargo in Russia so we cannot get help with the big water carrying planes that we got help last year.

I thought the Greeks came from some Anatolian barbarians who were given the gift of fire by refugees of Atlantis after it fell. But I suppose trying to reach back that far things get pretty blurred.

It's been so hot that even a cup of tea won't fix it.

Possibly. There are mention of Atlantis in ancient Greece, Atlantis is a Greek word anyhow. And we did not descent from Anatoli we where pushed out of a spaceship.
However the gift of fire was from Titan Prometheus.

It was 39.6 celsius (103,28 fahrenheit) three days ago in my area! The only thing that bothered me that day was that it turned my car into a furnace when I parked in town to buy a few things.

I had to buy some cold packs to cool off my steering wheel!

Well last year we reached 46 for about a week.
Fortunately I was at the seaside so it was OK.
I don't know why but it bothers me more at night. I'm OK during the days but at night I feel like it's double the temperature even if it's -10 degrees from the day temperature.

If it's anything like it is here (and it probably is to some degree (no pun intended)) ... I've noticed that the humidity tends to spike in the evenings as things are starting to cool off. And then it hangs around for a while.

I can just imagine Brits fainting everywhere with the prospect that a cup of tea won't fix the issue.

The good news is that at that point they get taken to an air-conditioned hospital, and then a cup of tea does fix that issue.
