How does Microsoft Teams communicate with my computer

When I'm on Microsoft Teams someone can call me through my computer. What technology allows that? The reason I ask is I wonder what number it is calling. Is it just basically "hijacking" the speakers?

Re: How does Microsoft Teams communicate with my computer

I never used teams and this is a shot in the dark but according to this https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sam...eams-bot-in-c/
    and this https://devblogs.microsoft.com/micro...ms-sample-app/
    and this https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/gra...-1.0&tabs=http
    ngrok ?
Also by those samples I assume it is using a hidden local IIS like but for phone I have no idea. May be skype integrated technology as MS tend to buy and dissemble. I would even go as far as claiming the Windows API modem instructions for calls in the core...
Anyhow this is just a guess so I might be dead wrong.

At the bottom it is probably using IPv6 and NAT traversal. Combine that with a service running locally and that's probably most of it.

I love that explanation. Especially the whooshing sound it made going over my head...
