    Resolved [RESOLVED] Compatibility

    Hi,

I have a Very Old game, simple to play and a favourite of SWMBO, installed in a Windows 10 notepad.
This game runs best in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2.

I can go in and select that mode, (Tick the box > Apply > OK) exit properties, re-enter properties, the tick-box still has it's tick.
Exit properties, click the shortcut icon, the game opens, don't run the game, just close the it and exit, go back to properties and the tick-box is empty !

Where should I look to discover why this is happening ?
Am I likely to be able to stop it happening ?

    Re: Compatibility

Have you tried the option "Change settings for all users" in the compat tab?
Wi-fi went down for five minutes, so I had to talk to my family....They seem like nice people.

Thanks for the reply Steve, Yes I have, I meant to say so in my first post.

    Re: Compatibility

Have you tried setting the compatibility mode and saving it (click Apply), and then setting the shortcut file as read-only (General tab)? No guarantee that will work, but it might.

    Re: Compatibility

Does Right Clicking and selecting RUN as ADMIN help?

Have you tried all the options directly on the EXE file to the game?

    Re: Compatibility

Thanks guys... I think running it as Admin did the trick.
