    Maybe or may be not

I was wondering if I was using "may be" and "maybe " correctly in my emails at work so I looked into it a little. I found this post:

    https://www.dictionary.com/e/may-be-...%20after%20all.

It seems to be unless you are very pedantic you can slide by with either. Maybe I'm wrong about it...but I may be correct
    Please remember next time...elections matter!

The link explains the difference correctly but never mind, I should think that people understand the intention. What I find more irritating is FD's "miss-understanding". Does that mean a good comprehension of some young lady? OK, maybe it's just a joke but if so it's getting a bit corny. BB

    You've clearly miss-understood me.

Edit> Backstory: I always thought it was spelt missunderstanding but that gets marked by the spell checker so I took to hyphenating it. Turns out the correct spelling is misunderstanding which I've only learned as a result of this thread.
