People detest information from outside The Bubble, but there are a lot of theories about who has done what:

Germany's future looks bleak due to war-based sanctions and an energy crisis. Germans continue to protest but will it do any good? We ask academic researcher Ralph Schoelhammer what we can expect from Germany and what he calls "incompetent politicians."

Germans being told that it'll take some time and effort to "flatten the curve" on energy shortages is a hoot!

    Re: Current Russia Ukraine tensions

I don't care for the idea of Meloni's win in Italy, but then I wasn't very happy we'd had to resort to Trump in the US either.

But I believe that these and other cases all reflect mass dissatisfaction with the trends of mainstream political camps. Get too extreme and people just pull hard the other way trying to re-establish some balance.

It would be so much less painful to have the political tug of war contests occur far closer to the middle of the road. Sadly lunatics have co-opted the system and people have been left with little choice but to go to extremes trying to drag the train back down onto both tracks before it topples over into chaos.

Neoliberals are never going to accept any of their shame and blame however. Most of them fail to admit that it was neoliberal policy during a time of extreme economic hardship that triggered the rise of European fascism in the last century.

Sadly, in Europe neoliberal elites hold that the answer to neoliberalism is more neoliberalism!

I don't see a good end coming from this escalating spiral of greed and power and inequality.

You can't get 99% to agree that the world is round, but they got 99% approval in one area.
That was my thought but then I remembered the referendum held on the Falklands on whether they wanted to be part of the UK or Spain. 92% turnout with a 99.8% result and It was accepted as legit. I guess you could argue that a similar result in Donbas could be legit due to its closeness to Russia both Geographically and Culturally (I'm not arguing that... but you could). There's no way they'd have got that result in Kharkiv or Kherson though.

Looks like a fourth "leak" in the Nordic Stream pipeline was found. All that methane cannot be good for global warming.

Yeah, someone needs to go throw a match on where the bubbles are coming up. lol

Amazing how much gas was in those pipelines, even though they weren't active.

They probably require some pressure to prevent seals from failing. Flooded pipelines wouldn't help anyone... aside from those who don't want Russian gas to supply Europe.

I share this video which unfortunately is in Italian language*.

Really, have you ever even been to Germany? do you know anything about the country bar watching a few online videos?

This is such an agenda driven video and you have just assumed is accurately portraying what is actually going on in the country.

Loved the bit where with a straight face the presenter tried to link what has happened in Italy's election to Germany seemingly ignoring the fact that Germany has had a basically centre right Government for Decades under which all these policies happened, and Germanys past which strangely enough discourages any rise of far right parties.

Also Germany is one of the Richest countries on the world, Italy is heavily indebted there outlooks couldn't be more different.

Every country around the world is worried about Energy bills, Germany did rely far to heavily on Russian Gas and is paying a price, what the Ukraine war has changed significantly is that energy security has now hit the top of the Agenda for most EU countries and most in the West. There will be a big focus on Nuclear & Green energy as they cant be disrupted by external factors.

Germany has some real energy issues to deal with. It is hard to get a true picture at a glance though. They often fail to note how much of the "nuclear" is power imported from France. The figures you get on wind and solar are the theoretical maximum capacity of the built out collectors even though they have never even come anywhere near that in practice due to climate reality while hefty transmission losses are never mentioned. Dirty brown coal and imported fossil fuels are still the backbone of the grid while "biomass" (waste wood, trash, grain crop burning) appears to be next.

India Abstains from UN Vote on Russia's Annexation of 4 Ukrainian Territories

The resolution failed to get adopted as permanent UNSC member Russia vetoed it. It was supported by 10 of the 15 members of the Council, while China, Gabon, India and Brazil abstained.
    https://www.news18.com/news/india/in...s-6076159.html

    Oh, snap...

Russia ambassador added that more than 100 international observers from Italy, Germany, Venezuela, Latvia, and other states, who monitored the voting, also recognized the results to be legitimate.
    Lies more lies and propaganda!!
Also why is Russia a permanent UNSC member? Shouldn't have been kicked out because US wants to? Crazy world, right? Abstain... The butchery is open for Greek words, sniff.

Gee, THAT was difficult to debunk...well, not really, as one quick Google search showed pretty much what you'd expect: There are standards for election observers. What Russia claimed as election observers appear to be various people who happened to be from other countries and had an opinion. So, whether you believe them or not...is entirely up to you. If you want to, that's fine. If you don't, that's also fine.

Of course, at the rate that Russia is losing, it's probably a moot point anyways.

I thought his original point was the war was NATO/US fault. That Russia was forced to invade Ukraine. But he failed at providing a reasonable explanation to support that stance.

Then he tried to say it was because Ukraine is ran by Nazi's. But failed at proving that too.

Since then it's just been a bunch of posts pointing out the hardships that the war is causing. I have no idea how that supports his other two claims. So I don't know the point of those post are.

No, why don't you tell us what YOUR POINT is. Your the one posting. Because all I see is someone pointing out the negative effects that war causes. Which everyone knows and no one is denying.

    You thought BS.
And since you played reverse psychology I would "bite" and answer this once.
The whole thing was originated back a couple of months saying that support was just insane and Europe shouldn't do so. I said from day one that this was the stupidest decision ever and I was of course mocked.
After a while, I even remember you posting that it was a nonsense decision (you forget what you wrote apparently) and I said that the measures will hit Europe hard. I initially talked about UK and I think Funky responded that they will just engulf that whole thing and will be fine. Since then I posted issues that haven't been seen in Euro economy for decades, showing that it's getting worst and worst and the latest one was Germany in a 70 years issue.
So it's not my fault that you follow the thread occasionally and I am not here to be your outlook reminder. So that was an one off, pay attention next time.

So they whole point of your recent posts is to point out the hardships Europe is facing because they chose to support Ukraine. Which I'm pretty sure they know about.

California Defense Contracting: How the Military-Industrial Complex Shaped the State

For the 2019-2020 fiscal year, according to a U.S. Defense Department Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC) report, California ranked third in total defense spending at $61 billion, behind Texas ($83 billion) and Virginia ($64.3 billion). Even so, California ranks well ahead of the next state on the list, Maryland, which pulled in less than half as much, at $30.4 billion in defense dollars.

    Re: Current Russia Ukraine tensions

I think Biden recently signed that 60 more Billion$ military aid will be given to Ukraine? Do correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I think I read. It's a give and take situation and the war crows are going mad about it!
Also (I of course don't go in there) there are reports that almost half of the military equipment in Ukraine are re-selled through the dark web. It's like NATO got a bulldoze filled with arms and ,grrr, grrr, inggg, iggg, sfff, landed them all over Zelensky. Well he can spare a few around, right?

Obviously you can post all the negative news about Europe you want.

I'd be more interested to know if any of it has weakened Europe's support of Ukraine. So I'd like to hear from some of those members. It hasn't changed mine but the war has had very little affect on the US. It's seems there is much more discontent about the war in Russia than there is in Europe. But it's hard to say because there is no pro Russia media in the US. At least none that I see.
