    Re: Current Russia Ukraine tensions

There have been a reported 20,000 Ukrainian refugees showing up at the US southern border. If that is true, I have two questions: How? and Why?

Is Mexico now the staging ground for ANY refugee to the US? That makes sense for those leaving central America, south America, or the Caribbean islands, but I see no reason why Mexico would be an easier destination for a Ukrainian than Canada, and they'd get a far better reception. Heck, they might not want to come to the US after they've been in Canada a little time.

    Interesting if true. Citation?

I agree - it seems strange especially considering that Canada *probably* has the third largest Ukrainian population besides Ukraine and Russia.

I'm reading more like in the low thousands...they are getting humanitarian visas from Mexico.

Since our traitors here seems to have an extreme love for refugees and not locals, they should invite them here. And since it's summer they can go megaswim and go there:

I don't have one. It's just something I've heard in passing on at least two occasions. I've never tried to look it up myself and don't claim it to be accurate. I just think it's a crazy figure.

To be clear, it's not the size of the figure that's crazy. It's the fact that there is a figure at all. Ukrainian refugees have to take either a boat or a plane to get to the American continents. If they are going to do that, then why Mexico? Tyson mentions the humanitarian visas. I would think that the US would have granted them that, as well, and Canada would be even more welcoming, so why Mexico? Of course, if the figures are not true, then that would explain it.

OK that's cool. Your post was the first and only one I've seen anywhere about this, and my "spidey senses" were tingling.

It's both for me. 20,000 is a lot of people choosing the Ukraine -> Mexico route. My gut guess is that some Ukrainian's might find that path to be the easiest, but I would think it would be an order of a magnitude (or two) less than other routes. If it really is that high, then I'm curious as to why.

    Re: Current Russia Ukraine tensions

It looks like I might have added a zero, but that seems a bit unlikely. It's easy to add a zero if your READ something, but adding a zero when you HEAR something is kind of tough. "Two" doesn't exactly sound like "Twenty".

After a quick search, I don't see figures as high as 20K. Forbes reported "Over 3,000" in an article on April 18. CBS has a story stating "Nearly 10,000" dated April 11. And so on. The numbers are all vague. Nobody says N have arrived. They all say 'more than N' or 'less than N', with N being ranging around from 2K to 10K, though I have not found a 20K. I also haven't seen two articles stating the same value for N. Technically, all of these statements could be true, because there exists quite a few integers that are simultaneously > 2k, > 3k, and < 10k.

There do appear to be a few, though.

It's fine, I wasn't trying to jump on you or anything. The possibility of 20,000 Ukrainian refugees at the US/Mexican border just surprised me a bit and had a bit of a "migrant caravan" smell to it. There's so much information flowing about that it is impossible to know what might be

I had a bit of a google and it appears it may be because Mexico doesn't require visas for Ukrainians.

It seems that the new disinformation management agency established in the US is at least initially intended to "handle" the narrative around Russia. Sort of a cross between Orwell's "1984" and Dick's "The Minority Report" since it goes after pre-crime.

Even worse may be the nutbar they have placed in charge.

I think what you are saying is that your insults are somewhat visual, and you expect them to be basic, but they really are not all that basic. You can't C your insults, so they aren't very visual. You kind of squeeze them in there like a python whose had a bit too much java, but ultimately, I think you've had a bit too much php.

GC is an acronym I'm familiar with...but not in this context. To me, it means "Growth Core". I suppose it could also mean "General Counsel", but that's probably not what you meant. I could probably come up with other meanings for it, too.

    The other truth

In order to have a clearer indea of what is happening, it is necessary to know the background, what happened before.
You cannot understand a movie by watching only the last few minutes.
On the net I found this video that explains the antecedents. historical excursus.
Some will apreciate it, others will say it is a partial (biased) narrative.
In any case, I find it most interesting as it touches on many salient points of the events of previous years.

    Re: Current Russia Ukraine tensions

That video from Contro TV above ignores a number of issues.

These fall mainly into the answers to the question: "Why now?"

There are at least two major answers why. One is the demographic collapse faced by so many countries, including Russia specifically. In a decade, or perhaps even in 5 years, Russia will not have the military manpower to engage in such an adventure.

Another is the end of the globalist era, as the US pulls back from its role in providing the Global Order to the rest of the world for free on the backs of its own working families. Without that relatively quiet political climate and the free policing of the world's shipping lanes Russia faces severe limits on its ability to export its raw materials (mainly oil, gas, and wheat) and import finished goods it has become so dependent upon. Since that also means China is out of the game (and faces its own far quicker demographic collapse and loss of energy imports anyway) satisfying the demand for cheap goods gets even harder.

This is just the first visible large-scale symptom of deglobalization. The welfare checks are drying up.

Two year old incident the corporate media still haven't covered: When bombing Russia isn't enough...

Does anybody know why Putin has been waiting for so long? I mean from 2014 to 2022? The Ukrainian army prepared for war. Reinforced concrete fortifications and antitank ditches were built.

    Re: Current Russia Ukraine tensions

The story I am consistently finding is that nobody was taking Russia's demographic collapse seriously until the Covid era. The population decline in recent generations makes it clear that Russia will not be able to field the military much longer. There just will not be enough cannon fodder, mechanics, supply and logistics workers, etc.

The population is just aging too quickly on the average because reproduction rates have been below replacement for several decades.

Of course most of Europe is in the same boat, and in most of the Far East things are even more extreme.

So Russia is in a bit of a "do or die" situation when it comes to securing itself from invasion.

Maybe. But, this is not an answer to the question. Why did not Russia attacked Ukraine in 2014? Russia captured Crimea and, as Russian generals say, could capture the whole of Donbass, including Mariupol. In 2014, Russia had great sympathies of local residents (as in Crimea).

Igor Girkin considers Putin a traitor. This is a good article about it (Nov 26, 2014).
