GoFund Me Help
Hey y'all!
Not sure how many of y'all know, but I live in south Louisiana and my little town took a direct hit from Hurricane Ida. When I paid off my home, I dropped the insurance and gambled self insuring; 1 year of premium with the 5% deductible would've been $10k out of pocket so I took the chance. Unfortunately, I didn't plan for the second strongest hurricane to directly hit my house.
Anyways, I've setup a GoFund Me here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/5n6xgm-hu...e-ida-disaster
It would really help me if y'all could donate and/or share it.

That’s a good idea. Instead of putting your name in the donation box, just put VB6 or .NET. At the end of the campaign, whichever language has the most donation wins.
The flame wars can be settled once and for all!
Edit - Just to clarify, this is a joke. An attempt to make light of an otherwise unbearable situation.

Re: GoFund Me Help
I'm not so sure about that. While it might be seen as inciting a flame war, I would note that there have been two go fund me drives to raise money for different VB6 replacements, and both fell FAR short of their goals. Either there aren't all that many people interested in replacing VB6, or they aren't willing to put up any money.

IMO I suspect they aren't willing to put up any money. That's why I suspect Twinbasic will prosper.

I've never been to that site and the link you posted looks real with donations. Is that a fake page? I'm missing the joke
Please remember next time...elections matter!

No, GoFundMe and the donations are legit. The joke was for the donee to put VB6 or .NET as their name and whoever donated the most wins.

The problem with new pitch is that you can NEVER get it off your hands.
