    What do you want to know?
    Is it about a grid control?
    Or is it about reading a xls file? XLS files are in BIFF format.
    Search for Excel BIFF reader

    wps by china corp,it's same like excel,This software implements all these functions. I heard that it also has a .NET SDK. If it can also be made into a small control, it may be very good to directly display a simpler EXCEL table.

    The early doc, xls and other formats are exclusive to Microsoft, and there is no open source, and of course other software is not compatible. When the system was still dos, Kingsoft wps had an absolute advantage in China. In order to open the Chinese market, MS office signed a two-way compatibility agreement with wps, that is, ms office can read wps format, and wps can also read ms office format. Documents, mutual authorization
    Because many organizations and government departments use the MS OFFICE format to save documents, but they cannot read these files at all without using ms office, and they cannot connect with their own unique office system, so Microsoft is forced to open up under the antitrust situation. Office format, as well as competitors from the Linux system open office, so Microsoft was forced to open the Office format. (Note: MS office format opening is forced)

    There are too few controls that can be closer to the EXCEL function. The only powerful one is charged, and the price is not cheap. Perhaps the easiest way is to directly use the EXCEL object to open the EXCEL table, this is the most perfect function, and the price is cheaper than the control

    There is one fellow countryman of yours hiding in these forums that claims his spread control is as powerful as the commercial implementation and/or Excel (no word about WPS) but his past history with sharing code is non-existent so there is no hope there IMO.

    In my opinion, different people have different divisions of labor. Some people are responsible for imparting some small skills and small knowledge points, and some are responsible for completing some creative works. They are all contributing to this forum. Isn't it?

    If I spend all my time on those trivial user-controls, I will never be able to accomplish more important things.

    If you can provide people with more valuable products, I suggest you stop wasting time on small things.

    Spread seems to be a mountain you can never cross.

    This person has also developed a large number of controls, and I would like to praise him greatly. VB6 may live another 10-20 years

    Project App.path from inside UC in OCX? [Solved]-VBForums
    https://www.vbforums.com/showthread....-in-OCX-Solved
    { VB6 - AddIn Document Map (thumbnail code navigation) } { VB6 - AddIn IDE Codefolding }
    { VB6 - AddIn Comment/Code Display + Highlight + Extra Hotkeys } { VB6 - sButton (multipurpose control) }
    { VB6 - Smooth Scrollbar Control } { VB6 - ScrollAdd (add scrolling to current forms and containers) }
    { VB6 - UcFormResizerLimiter } { VB6 - Virtual Pet Roach }

    I see a ton of crap being dumped into the CodeBank lately that was already there. Usually "the serial numbers" are scratched out, and sometimes there are trivial changes. Copying other people's work seems to be a national sport.

    I removed a series of personal attacks/bickering. I think everybody has their opinions, and they are probably known to one another.

    Still, that leaves an awful lot of posts, and I STILL have no idea whether or not there is a question in this whole thread. Or, perhaps there IS a question, but the OP also provided the answer: If you want a tool as powerful and complete as Excel for showing and working with Excel spreadsheets, the answer is clearly: Excel.
    My usual boring signature: Nothing

    Re: what about Spread32?it's can open *.xls file like excel

    I just want to use it to load a simple EXCEL form, XLS format is also available, make appropriate modifications, and then save. There are still many controls available, but I don't know. The purpose of posting is to let everyone talk about some of the controls they have used and share their experience.
    Spread32 is charged, I wonder if there is a free version.
    EXCEL is not opened directly, after opening SETPARENT to the software, as a control to use.

    Re: what about Spread32?it's can open *.xls file like excel

    you can use an ole control to open excel directly within the control
    i do my best to test code works before i post it, but sometimes am unable to do so for some reason, and usually say so if this is the case.
    Note code snippets posted are just that and do not include error handling that is required in real world applications, but avoid On Error Resume Next

    dim all variables as required as often i have done so elsewhere in my code but only posted the relevant part

    come back and mark your original post as resolved if your problem is fixed

    How about using SHELL to open the Excel file directly? Make changes. Save. Simple.
