Resolved [RESOLVED] Rogue line on form.

    Hi,

I'm trying to remove a little line which appears on my Form1.
I can't find where it comes from I'd welcome any suggestions as to how to remove it, maybe someone can suggest something I've not tried.

Top left, just under the first '!' in the text of the button above.

From top to bottom of TableLayoutPanel:
    6 buttons, 1 label, 3 tick boxes (1 row), 2 labels (1 row, hidden), 2 buttons (1 row).

    Hmmm....

    Isn't it always the way?

Ask a question, find the answer before any answers are given !

Don't worry, no one was interested to know what the cause was anyway, so it doesn't matter that you didn't tell us!

No body wants to know about errors in design.

Who told you that? I'm always interested in people's mistakes. Makes me feel better about all the ones I've made over time; some more recent than I'd care to admit.

    OK...

    Tip of the day...
Very narrow cells in a TLP should not be left empty.
I had to insert a 2px high panel in an empty 'gapping' row.

When I was designing the form, some ten or so years ago, I found that using the margin controls to leave a gap between the top two buttons didn't produce an equal height for the second button and the next four buttons in my column, so I just added an extra (empty) TLP row between the top two buttons.

This empty row seems to've caused the problem for which I posted this question. Filling it with an empty panel has solved that problem, even if the gurus in this forum would've done it differently.

So now I guess I'm going to have to try to re-design the whole form from scratch using what I've learned in the meantime, or I'll not sleep. (Cheers John)
