    vb.net 2012, set dword value

Hi. I'm messing about with a pet project. Part of it requires that I set a dword value to 1. I've tried looking it up but all the answers are vague and to be quite honest non-descript. Can anyone shed some light on this for me. Your time and effort will be greatly appreciated.

Are you referring to a Registry DWORD value?

    Possibly useful link:

Which registry hive is your DWORD value located in? Unless itís HKEY_CurrentUser, youíll probably need to give your app admin privileges.

If you are not asking about registry and you are referring to C++ DWORD then you probably can use and unsigned integer but if it's just to set to 1 you can simply use Short or Byte.
