Resolved [RESOLVED] [RESOLVED] Forum is acting up again->

This may or may not have been reported already, but the forum is acting up. It's complaining about duplicate posts. (And I have decided it's my turn to complain over here.)

I haven't seen that AND no, it hasn't been reported in a long time - equals issue on your end.

Can you recreate it on demand? If so, please outline the steps.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am afraid I can't reproduce the issue in the "Forum Test Area". However I should have thought to mention when the issue occurred. A few hours ago I was busy posting replies to questions in the vb.net and vb6 forums. After having submitted a reply I would see a forum error message concerning duplicate posts. It's possible the issue only occurs when replying to threads in certain forum areas. Perhaps it's also related to the browser being used, which in this case was Google Chrome running in Windows 10.

The good news is that due to the nature of the members here - no one is bashful.

I'd guess that the section of the forum doesn't matter. And again, if it did, it would affect others and they'd post about it.

Be sure and clear your cache and make note of when it happens etc..

How is people here not being bashful relevant to this topic?

    Okay.

It looks like it might have been my browser instead of this forum. It completely ceased working, forcing me to reinstall it. I consider the issue resolved.

not being bashful -> being talkative - not afraid to post about site related issues.

Ah, I see now. No, people here are not afraid to speak their minds. I sometimes mistook it for incessant nitpicking in coding forums. I have noticed I tend to speak my mind a lot too, which sometimes appears to bother other users too. I guess this is no big deal as long as we can all find a respectful way of dealing with it. But I see I have now gone off on a completely unrelated subject... :-)

Bashing and bashful are very close words with complete different meaning. I confess at first I thought the meaning was close from "bashing" so I went to google translation for "bashful".

@Delaney, sometimes people mistake a lack of bashfulness for bashing. What is meant as just an honest open statement is just misunderstood. Offline, I sometimes make what to me seems like a perfectly reasonably statement with no intended bashing only to see someone getting all upset about it. What is even stranger is that I wasn't even addressing or speaking about someone in particular...

I had marked this as resolved but wanted to report something I found out:

When clicking the button to post a reply to a thread it sometimes takes a few seconds for the forum to respond. Thinking I may have clicked just next to it in a rush I click again. So it is basically was me being impatient. However, isn't there something that can be done about the way the forum reacts to unintended double posts? This is a pretty old forum, has it ever been upgraded?

Isn't the WARNING that you've double posted enough

I guess so. The forum has had some strange issues before, that's why I thought the forum was at fault. It's also why I brought up the question of updates.
