    Resolved [RESOLVED] DirectX8 AUDIO Modulation/Pitchbend

    I've been exploring the DX8 to do some sound playback but can't figure out how to achieve modulation / PitchBend.

    Technically I thought, by calculating and setting the .SETFREQUENCY that would give the result, but it turns out .SETFrequency is only for playback. You cannot alter it DURING playback.

    So any ideas how to achieve pitch bend?

    A modulation or pitch bend is an Effect.
    And the "classic" way (a.k.a. at a mixing console) to deal with Effects is to never change the original signal, but additionally sending the original signal to an auxiliary channel
    (in a way "duplicating" the original signal) and to manipulate it there, then routing it back in to the master-channel with its own volume/gain-value.

    Only the follow are covered as Effects.
    • Chorus
    • Compression
    • Distortion
    • Echo
    • Environmental Reverberation
    • Flange
    • Gargle
    • Parametric Equalizer
    • Waves Reverberation


    A Modulation or Pitch Bend are not technically Effects.
