JetBrains Mono, for me. Picked up the recommendation here. Tried it. Liked it. Stuck with it.

Re: Which FONT do you use in the IDE ?

I am using ProggyCleanTT Size 12
    Rob
PS My DPI is 96 (Normal) the way God intended

PPS I compared mine ProggyCleanTT size 12 to Consolas Size 10
    I reckon mine is better

Re: FYI: JetBrains Mono for VBIDE font
For what I am about to say, SIZE will be important depending on your monitor size
EG I use a 40" LCD TV, and someone mentioned they are using Consolas size 12.
When I try that in my IDE (using Consolas I have to crank that down to size 9)

I just gave Consolas a try in my IDE (using size 9), and took a screen print.
I then reverted to what I have been using for some months ProggyCleanTT size 12
(Yup 12 in ProggyCleanTT is equivalent to Consolas size 9, in screen occupied space)
I took a screen print of that and compared the two.
ProggyCleanTT is a bit better I reckon.
I will be sticking with ProggyCleanTT

On my main system it is currently set to Courier New 10pt I have also changed some of the colors and use a blue background which seems easier on the eyes than the default white.

I like the font pretty well even though you get less characters per line it is easier to read than the more condensed fonts.

It was installed/used by some old Terminal application I used back in the nineties

Centurion Light SFF 8pt as provided by the o/s as the default system font (changed using Win Aero), this affects the menus on the IDE but the tabs as provided by MZ-tools are still arial (small point, probably 8).

The code itself is courier new 12 pt as it should be. All code on all systems is always displayed using a non proportional font.

Re: Which FONT do you use in the IDE ?

Never let it be said that I don't have an open mind.
As I mentioned I have compared my font to some of the others mentioned here.
In that same vein, I am prepared to compare mine with JetBrains (as suggested by a few other members)
I have downloaded their zip, and it contains lots of choices.
!) Am I in the correct folder (see attached image) ?
    2) Which of ALL OF THOSE in the TT folder, are you guys/gals using ?Name: JetBrainsMono_FONTS.jpg

PS Came across great font viewer nexusFont - https://www.xiles.net/
Whilst running it, I noticed this font - Imprint MT Shadow
    I am using size 10
I am finding it the easiest to read of all the ones I have tried.
Text is a bit bolder, and it shrinks the white space.
So my brain grasps more of the words in the line (without moving your eye along the line), and thus is easier to comprehend what you are looking at.

Not using monospaced font is insane IMO and this one is a proportional font totally unfit for code editors.

If this does not bother you then you might try as well to program in MS Word, you have the bold and underline options to highlight interesting code snippets available there :-))

    cheers,

Yes, all my own creation, it is just a os/x dock clone.

Completely agreed. You must not use a proportionally spaced font in a code editor.

This is CODE! (say it like Sparta).

Re: Which FONT do you use in the IDE ?

Obviously the use of a particular font is based on subjective taste and habit.
So, the adaptation to a new font will not be immediate.
I think it is useful for everyone to discover new fonts and try them.
For now the most interesting I found is JetBrains Mono. I did not know it.
