I'm new to VBForums, Hi All

I've never posted on a Forum before so I'm wandering about. I would like to get an answer to a problem I have with coding.
I'm new at that too. I'd like to post my question along with some code to show what I am trying to achieve.
Is what I am doing now, an example of the process. I am assuming the ribbon above with the "Attach" icon is what I use to upload my code sample for review? What is the TABLE above this message used for? Where do I find the answer to my question (or this question)?
Thanks , lejoc

Welcome to the forum.

I've moved your thread to our chit chat area because NOBODY was going to see it in the testing area. That's intended for users to be able to test out how to use forum features etc. Mind you, the answers you'll get in ChitChat aren't likely to be all that helpful from a technical point of view but this seemed about as good a home as any for your general question.

I am assuming the ribbon above with the "Attach" icon is what I use to upload my code sample
Yes. You click that, browse for you file and upload it. Please make sure to take any compiled binaries out of it first (we're only interested in the source and we've had people try to distribute malicious code in binaries before). I think the option should work for you but might be blocked as a new poster, not sure. If you do get blocked post back here and us mods will try to sort something for you.

What is the TABLE above this message used for?
I'm not sure what you mean by table in this context. What are you seeing?

Where do I find the answer to my question (or this question)?
Members will post back and their answers will appear below your question. If you're reading this then you've probably worked it out by now

You might want to take a few "Getting started" tutorials if you haven't already. There are lots of free ones out there. A good start might be to Google:

VB .net free tutorials

Here are a couple I like:

https://www.tutorialspoint.com/vb.net/

https://www.homeandlearn.co.uk/NET/vbNet.html

And this is a kind "how do I do that" site.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/pre...226(v=MSDN.10)
Please remember next time...elections matter!

Attaching a file is often not the best thing to do. Most problems are specific to a particular method or section of code, in which case, just post that into a message wrapped in

tags. You can do that by pressing the # button and pasting the code between the tags, or else paste in the code, then highlight it and press the # button.

Good thing you didn't waste the time adding that extra word, you don't have all that much left.
