    What was your last purchase?

Anything that you have purchased lately. Meaning everything and anything. Post a pic. It can be anything.

    I'll start. My latest purchase.

Well, mine was food. I don't think anybody wants to see a picture of what THAT looks like, at the moment.

I had a fit of nostalgia and ordered a bunch of Fighting Fantasy books off of ebay. I will be disjointing my fingers over the next few weeks as I try to save my last 18 page locations.

Pick up Stix. House special chicken. White rice. They threw in a free large order of beef broccoli since someone cancelled their order. Nice

I bought the ingredients to make a PIE - steak!

OK, the back of the oven was hotter than the front but I promise you it was still tasty - we ate it last night.

    Roast carrots, onions and beetroot...

I bought an Amazon Fire 10 tablet as it was on offer for £125 (about $160),

I then forced the google play store on to it which was surprisingly easy and hid a load of the Amazon adverts which was also surprising easy.

I have to say i am surprised at just how good it is, really nice build quality, nice screen and battery life is good too, i would recommend it thoroughly but wait until amazon prime day or something to buy one as you get a lot of money off.

Most recent tech purchase was two of these babies:

I only use one at a time for gaming but I work from home permanently now so I needed two of the same model. They are my first curved monitors and that took a little getting used to but it seems normal now.

So you gave $629.30 for a gaming monitor.
Anddd then you gave another $629.30 for a programming monitor?

Re: What was your last purchase?

I'm still using a 27" Dell monitor that I bought MANY years ago. In fact, it was so long ago that I paid $700 for it. I recently bought a monitor of the same size for the office and paid $150. My how times have changed.

I'd go for two larger monitors if I had the desk space at home, but I can't fit two 27" monitors, let alone two 32" monitors.

Still, if they are curved, I'd be thinking about what the curvature is. How many would you need to go 360? You could then arrange them around the top of the room and get some old-time barbers chair to work in, increase the hydraulic range, and add a power supply to raise you up to the level of the monitors. Then you'd need to put a beverage source into the ceiling, with a drop tube. It could be pretty sweet.

Same here. People are so afraid of a total lockdown, they've cleaned off the shelves of everything!

I have to get up bright and early for tomorrows shipment to beat the rush.

Anyway, my last purchase is a 4k Samsung TV, that includes NetFlix and Amazon Prime.

Re: What was your last purchase?

I stopped by the store to get something for lunch. Normally, there are only a few people around, plus a cleaning crew, at that time of the morning. This morning, there were long lines for every checkout, including people being very generous regarding the 'about 15 items' sign for self-checkout. Still had to get something for lunch, though, so I did.

Paper products were being rationed, some shelves were empty, but most stuff was present at that time. Considering the rate of purchasing, though, the store will be picked over by this afternoon.

It's kind of interesting, we're buying like never before, but only certain things.

Yesterday's shipment was on the shelves at 7:00 am. By 7:10 am the shelves were empty again.

I wish I could buy some bread. There hasn't been any of that on the shelves for days.

We are a smaller economy so we kinda have almost every product.
Also 10 years on crisis is a benefit on these situations. We are already in panic for 10 years so we've learned to control it

That's kind of funny. Yesterday, bread was one of the things that was largely untouched. I had no problem getting whatever I wanted. Spaghetti sauce and hot dogs, though, they were mostly gone, along with pretty much EVERY kind of cereal.

    Papering over the cracks too.

I thought I'd pop into Tesco late last night and there was almost nothing on the shelves. Bread, Eggs, Meat, Veggies, Loo Roll were all completely empty. So I went back in this morning and the shelves were completely full. In the UK, at least, the problems not with the supply of goods, it's the logistics of getting it onto the shelves - which is much less of a problem.

People can't panic buy forever, it'll pass in a couple of days when everyone's already got what they want and stops going nuts.

Re: What was your last purchase?

Yeah, I was wondering at what point people will have stuffed every room in their house with moon floss, and will finally stop buying. I happened to have something like a six month supply to begin with, since it's a nuisance to buy, but what would I do with more?

People are buying like crazy. What happens down the road? Will they stop buying once space is out? Will they go back to normal levels, just re-stocking what they use? Will they build sheds for storage?

It seems like some producers should be seeing a boost, but it may be that they aren't ramping up production because they realize this is just a spike that will eventually go away. It's just weird.

I've gone feral. Lunch consisted of a squirrel that I bit the head off of and devoured raw with great relish.

Well, it was more of a bratwurst, and it was cooked, and it was more mustard and ketchup rather than relish, but you get the idea.
