I'd love to see that but don't think it will happen. I find it amazing the piles of destroyed lives Trump leaves in his wake, yet there seems to be plenty of people still willing to fall on their sword for him. Do they really believe the things he says or are they just willing to do anything in hopes that some of his fame will rub off on them by association.

The world is full of lies, and the true expression is always incomprehensible. Bad people live for thousands of years.

China started the electric vehicle of Shanghai Wuling Hongguang production last July. The price is only 4500 US dollars.
But the electric vehicle produced by Toyota in Japan needs at least 15000 US dollars.
Can't the Japanese company do this price?
No, what they pursue is profiteering, and they never want to be fair.

Just like why the United States wants to suppress Huawei's 5G technology, there is nothing else, if you always use half the price. Taking too much business, they feel they can't survive, so they have to kill their rivals.

The marketplace is a battlefield of naked deception. The same is true of novel coronavirus. If the interests of the people are not the first requirement, it will certainly cause many unprovoked casualties, sorry, the president said that this has nothing to do with me.

Either that 4500 yuan is a typo, or it is HEAVILY subsidized. Even if you left off a zero it is HEAVILY subsidized....or a bike.

There is no subsidy. China’s new energy vehicle standard is 300 kilometers and other conditions, such as the car’s battery capacity can travel 120-170 kilometers

On March 23, 2009, India Tata launched the nano car, priced at only 2,500 US dollars (17,500 RMB)

hongguang Electric cars sell more than Tesla, only took 200 days (India used 12 years) to achieve a sales volume of over 200,000, which is now the nation's No. 1 sales volume of new energy. According to EVsales data, Wuling Hongguang MINIEV won the world's single new energy model sales in January with 37,000 units of sales, and also set a new record for my country's new energy models. Dignity took one and took a "world first"!

Re: Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

Sony phones in Japan are also very expensive, at a price of 5,000 yuan, when Xiaomi only needed 1999 yuan (300$). Because many Japanese car and mobile phone manufacturers take a high-price and high-profit approach.
Many companies such as China's Xiaomi have adopted strategies such as small profits but quick turnover.
For the same electricity consumption, China only needs 140 yuan, and Japan needs 410 yuan, which is three times the price. Japan has very few hydroelectric power generation, almost all of it is thermal power generation, nuclear power plants, and the cost is high. Therefore, the sales of Pot acid battery electric vehicles and new energy vehicles are very small. There is no motivation to develop.

Xiaoya isn't trying to be anyones girlfriend, or looking to fight a battle.

Safe to say Moti doesn't have a hand in this.

Definitely not Moti. Xiaoya's posts are hard to read but it's just translation issues. If you read every sentence twice and look for alternative meanings you can generally find a rational (if often segwayed) argument. Moti's posts were totally screwy.

I miss Moti. He started out as a genuinely good, if slightly bizarre, guy. But, unfortunately, he headed in some pretty unhealthy directions towards the end and some of his linked material was waaay outside the bounds of acceptability for this forum.

Like how to deal with the new crown epidemic, the Chinese have been ten times ahead of a hundred times the time, as well as technology. But Americans don't want to admit it, and they don't want to learn.Even if they are wrong, they can't learn from their opponents, that's their attitude.

I'm starting to think this gibberish is some kind of generated code like mentioned in a previous post, the code is starting to break down, maybe a memory leak

I think that was actually one or the more coherent posts. He's lamenting that exceptionalism is so ingrained in the US that they refuse to learn from China even when China is acting in a way that was demonstrably more effective.

I actually think there's a lot of truth in that argument but I'd add a few refinements:-
    1. It isn't limited to the US, the whole of US and Europe is guilty of this.
    2. It isn't limited to China, we look down on everyone that's not the US or Europe
    3. I don't think it's a refusal to learn from them. Rather it's a dismissal. We just assume that they have nothing worth teaching us.
    4. While I think we've long been guilty of this, I think Trump's administration was particularly bad at it which gives a distorted picture.
    5. It ignores the pre-existing cultural differences between China and the West and I'm not convinced that most of us in the West would be willing to trade the reduced Covid death rates for the more authoritarian culture that China has.

I've always felt it was that last point. China was effective, but by using means that the US and EU simply couldn't do. We had people protesting the wearing of masks. What would it have taken to truly lock a city down in this country? It would have taken powers that the government simply doesn't have.

There are related factors. For example South Koreans are less bred to bow to authoritarianism, but as a monoculture the people have a strong sense of the common good.

You won't find that in countries polycultural to the point where many don't even know their neighbors well enough to recognize them at the grocery store. This has made the US for example far more individualistic than it ever was in the past.

I'm not sure "bred" was really the word you were after but I know what you mean. State above the individual is a large part of the culture in China and I think there's both positives and negatives to that. The US is at the mirror opposite of that scale so it's positives and negatives are also mirror opposite.

What would it have taken to truly lock a city down in this country?
I think it would have been possible in the UK but politically VERY difficult. At most a short term quarantine would have got through, say a month.

More insects, er, rodents to worry about:

COVID Variants Detected in Animals, May Find Hosts in Mice

In new work, researchers at the Institut Pasteur in Paris have shown that the B.1.351 and P.1 variants of concern, which were first identified in South Africa and Brazil, respectively, can infect mice, giving the virus a potential new host.

Older versions of the virus couldn't infect mice because they weren't able to bind to receptors on their cells. These two variants can.
Geopolitical and economic pundits are already saying that this means COVID-19 booster shots "forever."

By the way, there's a story behind that photo. During our first lockdown there was a period when drive-throughs were allowed but walk in take-aways weren't. People started building cardboard cars just to get themselves a burger. It's pretty typical of the British sense of humour.

As for the virus going to mice. I suppose that's understandable. The rodents were all like, "they're having a pandemic and we're NOT responsible??? Inconceivable!!!"

I got my first shot today. There is only a little pain, and I feel a little feverish at night.I had to make an appointment a few days ago, and there were only eight places every day.As a result, the past completely out of control today, a large number of seedlings came.I went there at twelve o'clock at noon, and I made an appointment until two o'clock, but there were too many people to queue up.Then I waited for another two hours until the vaccine came at three or four o'clock. As a result, the staff's system went wrong and waited for more than an hour. They may want to do this Carefully Register work. It is possible that some batches of vaccines can be traced back to the source if there is a problem.

There is also a cycle in Yunnan Province of China to carry out the investigation of all personnel. Start the lockdown again for a while.Just because a dozen people are infected.

In fact, China is the safest country.I went to have a vaccination today, and on the way back, I asked the others why they didn't go? Most people don't even think about it. Because there are almost no relevant patients in China.
However, this disease has been infected with 10% in the world, and it may be ravaged everywhere to ordinary colds, so the child begins to make a vaccine. It is essential. Perhaps in a few years, humans will automatically have this antibody, and most people will not be harmed.

Re: Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

When China had just encountered these patients last year, I took the same box hospital as a large number of containers on the air. Because the hospital is all patient, and they need a separate isolation area so this is the best way.
Many years ago, with the smallpox virus, some countries drove all these people to an island and left them to die, or buried them alive and burned them.

Sometimes China is able to do one thing for the whole country. For example, in the past, if you wanted to build an atomic bomb, you needed to refine uranium ore.Localization of minerals throughout the country to find refining.

In fact, the United States does not have no control. In order to prevent Huawei's five-level communication technology, he directly occupies a leading position in the world, and directly purchases China Huawei company's products from China. There is also our hanging live broadcast app. Trump actually asked Microsoft and other companies to buy him very cheap price

As long as they want to do it, no matter how disgusting or unfair it is, they can do it unconditionally.

The whole country is isolated. It will cause great economic losses. So for the money they choose not to do so simple, a few people died what?
Because of the economic losses caused by the segregation of cities in the country, the United States did not control it at all for money.

Natural and man-made disasters. Last year, the virus was related, and this year, there was a Suez Canal ship interception incident.
And the previous nuclear power plant explosion in Japan.
And some oil fields have been hit by missiles. The future war of new energy is incalculable.
China requires that in a few years, the proportion of electric vehicles purchased should exceed 50%.
The millet press conference has just been released, and he will invest 10 billion US dollars to produce electric vehicle.Apple has a car, Tesla has a car, and Xiaomi has to do the perfect flip.

There is too much oil digging in the world, which may cause the movement of the earth's plates, causing earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and other disasters. At that time, it may be dry for months, years or heavy rains. There are also economic and technological blockades imposed by the United States on China and other countries. The United States and other countries produce a lot of weapons, they must find ways to sell it, so the war is constant.

There will be more and more disasters in the future, and I hope it will not happen in the next few decades.

When we're dead, we won't know.

Re: Corona virus, China major city lockdowns, etc.

Strict policies of isolation were very effective in limiting the spread and the toll of hospitalization and death. Those were great in the short run, but they only makes sense if immunization can achieve saturation levels quickly enough.

The fungalitis is jumping to rodents even now, so hope of eradicating COVID-19 by limiting spread are gone. The crud will be with us forever, just as occurred with influenza.

Failing to get vaccines into people means a lot of "dry tinder" is behind the walls of isolation, awaiting a spark before turning into a raging fire. This is a race that must be won.

Chinese urgency on COVID-19 goes missing in vaccination drive

There is no globally accepted standard for the percentage of a population that needs to be vaccinated — or to develop the necessary antibodies through infection — for herd immunity against COVID-19 to kick in.

A November paper in medical journal Lancet estimated that figure to be 60% to 72% for a 100% effective vaccine, while Gao Fu, the head of the Chinese disease-control agency, put it at 70 to 80% for China in comments this week.

China would need to administer 10 million doses every day for seven months to reach such thresholds, Chinese infectious-disease specialist Zhang Wenhong told a recent forum. Only around 52.5 million doses had been administered as of the end of February, according to Zhong.

The current pace is of “great concern,” Zhang added.

Besides quickening production, China has also committed to shipping vaccines overseas as it works to blunt foreign criticism of the initial spread of the virus from its shores.

Chinese companies are set to export nearly 400 million doses, state media has reported, and the government said it is providing free vaccines to 53 countries.

China is caught between “both the vaccination requirement of achieving herd immunity … and the demand associated with its vaccine diplomacy,” said Yanzhong Huang, a global health fellow at the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations.

You can get a car made of paper.I saw a movie today where a little girl raised more than a dozen geese. Then his father invented a small plane, and the little girl flew the plane to take the geese to the sky, just like training dogs.

Over the past decade, Chinese millet cell phone. Samsung's original cell phone of 6000 yuan was achieved in 1999.
In China, cell phone's research and development, as well as helping the United States Apple Foundry, get into full swing.
Tesla has been developing rockets, and electric vehicle.

Maybe in a century or two, it will be like StarCraft, and most people will be able to drive a ship or a plane to work.
Driving in China's big cities is very crowded, perhaps the only way to go to work is to fly from the sky.
