    Re: https://www.radbasic.dev/

Any updates on this? The last Tweet from the RadBasic account about RadBasic progress was many months ago promising a Beta that is now several months late. A total lack of communication is very off-putting. At least take a couple minutes to post something explaining that progress has been slower than planned, the Beta is now expected in N days/weeks/months, etc.

I don't know why people are still looking at this for it to be a thing. I think it's time to accept that RadBasic isn't happening.

C++ programmers will dismiss you as a cretinous simpleton for your inability to keep track of pointers chained 6 levels deep and Java programmers will pillory you for buying into the evils of Microsoft. Meanwhile C# programmers will get paid just a little bit more than you for writing exactly the same code and VB6 programmers will continue to whitter on about "footprints". - FunkyDexter

I have to agree. TwinBasic has proven itself every week.

I would encourage all who have considered radBasic, please fund twinbasic instead. They produce results and will come out with a solution.

I test my 2 100k projects weekly, and can load them and see gui editor. There is still a lot missing BUT every week that list is getting shorter.

Does anyone know the current status of RadBasic?

If so, could they post here any details.

The last time I heard anything about this was from wqweto and though I can't recall at the moment what it was about, I do recall that it wasn't anything exciting. I don't think anyone really knows what's going on with this at the moment.

    Re: https://www.radbasic.dev/

There was a version out a few months ago... Virtually no progress over a year before that.

I also have concerns that the CreateObject call to hop on the ChatGPT train isn't entirely real, as no other objects I tried could be created. Between this, the other demos being extremely fragile, the website falsely stating all controls are *done* rather than planned, and the veil of secrecy... I question whether the goal is promoting a false impression of progress. It's barely beyond hello world support. But look at how even still you have people using RB and tB in the same sentence, like they're peers... tB is about to graduate college while RB is still learning to walk. At the current rate, tB will be on version 10 before RB gets to where it is now.

It's still lacking most core syntax, including APIs, compound conditionals, and other basics...

It's a massive undertaking, such a project. I don't know whether or not Carles has the ability, but it is clear he at best doesn't have the time to get it done in years instead of a decade or more. Not being upfront about the actual current state and reasonable timetable is bad for projects like tB also trying a subscription, proprietary model in a community wary of that.

This thread has a number of posts from when the new version came out a few months ago: https://www.vbforums.com/showthread....-do-you-prefer

Yep. I've tried to make it a point to call those posts out as soon as I see them. The two were conceived from the same set of goals, but one is still in the mitosis stage...the other is kicking ass and taking names.
