.Net graphics select, drag and drop

Hi,
I have been searching for an article on how to make custom drawn graphic shapes selctable, movable. my aim, illustarated in pic below, is to allow end user to select a blue shape from left menu and drop into either a,b or c pink frames. and be able to swap content over between a,b and c.
