    What specs are you after?

    Samsung and Western Digital at least do similar things too. You'd want to settle on a desired capacity and then check out each one for price, performance and features.

    Looking at WD and Sam, do they both need internet to backup data ?
    Another way to look at this, USB backup without the USB...
    WiFi is a good path to backup ... lots of space

    Have you considered something like Dropbox that will autosink files to the Cloud as you save them.
    Wi-fi went down for five minutes, so I had to talk to my family....They seem like nice people.

    Dropbox, Google Drive, One Drive (MS)
    All need internet and they have limits...2GB
    While WiFi drive does not...well...1-2TB

    I don't know for sure but I wouldn't have thought so. They have drives that create a WiFi hotspot, just like the Seagate drive. I would assume that anything that connects to that hotspot has direct access to the drive.
