Is there any difference among VS 2008, VS 2010, VS 2012 & VS 2013 coding?

    Hi,

Is there any difference among VS 2008, VS 2010, VS 2012 & VS 2013 coding? Or can I use the sample code of VS 2008 to code my project in VS 2013?

Because I can't find VS 2013 database programming code tutorials but there are few in VS 2008.

    Please advise.

NB: VB2013 & VS2013 both are same? Or there is any difference?

    Regards.

2008 tutorials will work in vb2008 and any later version with very little alteration

Thanks for your reply. I have downloaded a file created in vb2008 but could not open it as it says .NET 3.5 is not installed on your computer. While I have installed .Net 4.5 Frame work.

As for your other question, they are essentially the same... Visual Studios (VS) is the IDE from Microsoft for their suite of .Net languages. So while VB2013 is only VB.Net, VS2013 is Visual Studios which may include VB.Net but may also include other .Net languages like C#, JScript, etc. If on this site in the Visual Basic category, if someone says their code is from VS2013, they are basically saying that it's from VB2013.

You asked about coding, not compiled executables.
Different vb versions compile for different framework versions. If you get a message saying a framework is required, it will be.
