Not sure I could give a top 10 but some that immediately spring to mind:-
    Europa Universalis III
    Hearts of Iron II
    Baldurs Gate I & II
GTA Vice City (best setting in the series)
At least one of the Total War games but I'm not sure which I'd choose - I vary
    Way of the Exploding Fist
Sensi Soccer brings back some fond memories
Leisure Suit Larry brings back some fond mamories (only really included for the pun)

    rFactor 2
    rFactor
Nascar 2003 (really any Papyrus title esp. Grand Prix Legends and Indycar II)
    F1 Challenge
    Dirt Track Racing
    Wolfenstein
Rise of the Triad (could never beat that 3rd boss)
    Defender
    Galaxian/Galaga
    Frogger

Honorable mention goes to a version of Missle Command for the TRS-80 written in BASIC. The objective was to protect American cities from Soviet ICBMs launched over the north pole. Modifying the source code for that was my first experience in programming (1982).

Edit: forgot about Leisure Suit Larry...

The last Doom is pretty good, too, though I forget what the number was. Was it only III? Or something different? All those references to UAC control....

Wolfenstein was an odd one. The original was kind of a fun game (on the Apple II), but Wolfenstein 3D was really awesome. It may have been the first 3D perspective game, but at the very least it was the biggest, as it launched a whole genre.

Defenders of The Crown used to be a regular play in elementary school, we had a thread with Jacob commenting on this a while back.

Definitely play Baldur's 1 , there is a new version that come out last year!

P.S. I can live with no one mentioned Space Quest 3 (my best game ever) but I'm really surprised that nobody mention Monkey Island, aaarrrgggg!! You guys didn't play adventures? PC = adventure back then.

I can not remember if I did or not!

From what I remember he tested it on an emulator he made! The emulator was posted in one of the code banks.

    Edit:

it was the first Double Dragon I finished! I have played the second but never finished it.

DD2 required multiple tricks to be finished on PC. I remember 3 of them (as i played with my cousin again for the 34832th time, a month ago).
The lawnmower: Have to walk carefully step by step to turn it on and then you have to hit your "brother" with the shovel and immediately jump to avoid, else you may loose 4 life squares!
The wall robots: You have no shovel so basically you're fkd, unless you are playing the game with a keyboard and you a level 10. You need to do the horizontal jump in correct timing to deal with the robots.
If a robot gets you there is a possibility on losing an entire life or leave you hanging in the air until the time finishes and loose a life (thus the robot bug).
The final boss: That, i cannot tell you. We have a technique with my cousin to split the enemies (i take everyone but the Boss and my cousin deals with the Boss). Since i am very busy dealing with everyone but the Boss here, i cannot tell you a technique for the Boss as my cousin deals with him. The other enemies are taken down mostly with angles and backward kicks.
So i believe this interested about 0,00001 of the forum but anyhow, it's one of my favorite games so

Edit: On sensible soccer i have a record of 18 - 1 on the default time game

Googling I saw something about DD Neon on Steam! Might check it out although, I don't have a joystick or gamepad.

    Edit:

Nice, i will call a conference with my cousin to see if we are going to test this one, when he visits.
Joystick and Gamepad? Pff, you couldn't play DD2 with Joystic or gamepad so it makes no difference to me.

All men have an inherent right to life, the right to self determination including freedom from forced or compulsory labour, a right to hold opinions and the freedom of expression, and the right to a fair trial and freedom from torture. Be aware that these rights are universal and inalienable (cannot be given, taken or otherwise transferred or removed) although you do risk losing the aforementioned rights should you fail to uphold them e.g Charles Taylor; United Nations sources: http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/, http://www.ohchr.org/EN/Professional...ages/CCPR.aspx. Sadly I can no longer play the Amiga because ours broke in about 96! Even most of the games with it have disappeared or the disk we still have were used for other things. I have UAE but there seem to be a lot of the old games missing that are not available for it.

    Re: Favorite games top10.

I wish there was a button on my skull which I could press to allow me to forget a book at will. This would make it possible to read that book for a second time and enjoy it all over again with the same sense of wonder as I had before. Alas, until senility sets in I am unable to do this. There are very many books I would eagerly forget and then consume again.

Similarly I wish I could forget Oblivion. In my opinion it is the greatest video game I have ever played and I have played a lot of games.

Oblivion has without a doubt the best DLC (Downloadable Content) of any game ever. The "Shivering Isles" pack was a very major expansion pack and added probably 30-50 hours of casual gameplay time.

Oblivion is therefore my benchmark for measuring other games against.

    My top 10 games...

    1. Oblivion + all expansions (except horse armour which was an April fool's joke by the developers).
    2. Kerbal Space Program (it's not a game, it's REAL!!!)
    3. GTA: San Andreas (the one with CJ, Big Smoke and Mike Toreno - holy mackerel this game is still epic and is a LOOOOONG game. Fantastic.)
    4. Frontier: Elite 2 (Atari ST, buggy as hell but wonderful nevertheless)
    5. F19 Stealth Fighter (Atari ST, by Microprose. Lots of bugs and still awesomely engrossing)
    6. GTA 5 (a good re-make of San Andreas)
    7. Splinter Cell (ALL OF THEM -- even Double Agent)
    8. Skyrim (a worthwhile sucessor to Oblivion but lacked any soul)
    9. Fallout 3 (everyone looks the same in the wasteland, but live is cheap and violence is therapeutic... right?)
    10. "2048" (I hate it's infernal addictiveness)
I don't live here any more.

There was a quest in one of the games (forget which), that involved finding a character who would make the horse armor for you. I can't remember if it was part of the original game or was part of DLC?

I would also like to add Heretic 2 , forgot about that.
About buying games. When i started playing there was very little to be done than buy the actual game boxes (that i enjoyed very much).I must say that i still will get old game boxes from games that deserved to be bought or the boxes are awesome (Might & Magic IV and V is an awesome box example) but....Piracy!Arrrgggggggg! This was not intentional, as games started to grow (Amiga era, till CD lame cases game), most of the boxes did not make it to Greece, so we were forced to get the games that we drooled about, somehow.I mean i bought Wing Commander original (and split the contents with my friend, he got the box i got the maps, etc) , the game was something i would never forget, it made me go and get a 20MB Hard disk and a used 386, just to play it, so imagine my anticipation when WC2 came out! Problem was, no box in the market, so what should i have done? Arrrrgggggggg!!! Shiver me timbers! So long story short Piracy was necessary back then.Ah and WC2 made me go get a Sound Blaster Pro for the speech! Lemmings (that i did not include as at the end of the day is not one of my favs) made me go get a mouse, Sensible Soccer made me go get an Amiga like Joystick, Need For Speed 2 made me go get a Pentium, something, i forget, nothing made me go get a VGA, i just wanted a VGA from the start like crazy! I first played Xenon 2 on VGA in my house and went: (remember i had a 4 colors CGA before) AAAAAAAA!!!AAAAA!!!AAAAAAAA!!!Yes yes yes yessssssssssssss!!!! Also my first real music card was an AdLib and i first heard Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with it, lol, but the difference from the PC Speaker was Huge, right?

    Ahh, good times,
I believe, my list haven't changed.
I'm re-playing Divinity original sin and recently finished Pillars of eternity but they don't go on my top 10 for sure but they are decent.
Unfortunately and I would be happy to be wrong, one of my absolute favorites, Icewind Dale(2) , is getting a sequel but from what I can see they just "Larian'ed" the game so it's nothing like I would be expecting and even made me get a new PC to play it.Again, hope to be wrong and if so I would be needing a new PC...
