    The GIF thread...

Post an awesome or funny GIF, because awesome or funny GIFs are awesome or funny.

It's funny how many people can't pronounce it properly.

It's always been said like "jiff" since the format was created in the pre-Web CompuServe days but I keep hearing "giff" with a hard G. Use to be funny, you knew who was a poseur. Now the software world is crawling with poseurs like a pound of ground beef left outdoors for a week.

So by that logic, do you pronounce jpeg as "gipeg"? Or "gee-peg"?

    Re: The GIF thread...

I think the creators meant it to be pronounced like "jiff", though I got used to pronouncing it "giff" but only because that's how it's spelled in my mother tongue.

Same goes for PNG, it's 'supposed' to be pronounced as ping but many spell it as pee en gee

I have a reference that cites the original specs that stated GIF should be pronounced "jiff", like the peanut butter, and not "jghblff", with the peanut butter.

I doubt logic has much to do with any of it.

I noticed that the reindeer's nipples got moved up after the guy lands on her back. They look more like human nipples on a human male chest.

I know I'm going to regret asking this question, but, unfortunately, knowing that has never stopped me.

What is that a picture of?

It looks like a raccoon in desperate need of a good tailor and a cure for an overdose of bad drugs.

Seems to be from the animated movie Kung Fu Panda. Haven't seen it though.

Exactly, it's Master Shifu not being able to assimilate how the fat Panda has been chosen as the new Dragon Warrior.

    LOL

That wouldn't be from Firefly, would it? It's about the only show I've seen Nathan Fillion in... (There's been a few, but can't recall anything...)
