Re: artificial intelligence
Great. Now, can you create the real thing, as there isn't any in evidence in this world.
What is your AI based on? What type of problem can it solve?

Re: artificial intelligence
its main purpose is to be a girlfriend or fight real battles
the invention is a software that makes the
computer mimic the brain action of thinking for three brain types :
human, animal, human and animal combination. to accomplish this the
software uses several stages detailed in the specification.
the subject is also known as AI(artificial intelligence), the brain
algorithm, the brain software, artillect , chatbot and chobits.
for efficiency reasons this software excludes several brain
actions:
dreaming and laughing.
the software also features 4 emotions : happy, curious, fear, anger and the
neautral emotion (no emotion).
the software saves all of her thoughts in text files, each not bigger
than 1kb ,therefore, memory usage is small and efficiant.
the software is an artificial intellegene platform for : computers, robots,
vehicles, cellphones ...
addable robotics:
the software was written on vb 2008 express ,therefore , it
can use sensor input, robotic output devices, webcam input,
robotic usb control boards and more...
the software includes two versions : v5.2 an AI platform in which the input
and output data type is set by the programmer for any ai needs such as chatbot,
auto internet surfing, video games...
and v7 an instance of v5.2 which can see and hear.

Re: artificial intelligence
I looked at the video, and I'd have to say that you are seeing much more than I am. It isn't clear what that thing is doing based on the video I saw. It seems to be parroting whatever was put in, along with a couple affirmations at times. Not exactly proof of anything. The demo would need to show something unusual, and even then it wouldn't be definitive as long as it is a static video. Hard to say anything about it one way or another.

Sorry to disappoint you but AI has been created by sound blaster and then destroyed by sound blaster. So AI has been created used and then...Discontinued.

I watched A v5.3 video and about half of the standBy video. Perhaps I watched the wrong one. Perhaps I see but don't comprehend. Post a link to the right one, then at least everybody is on the same page.

I'm with Shaggy. I'm not seeing what the OP is. After viewing both videos posted in post 10, I've got nothing.
These videos don't prove AI in any form. They don't demonstrate it in any way. I'm seeing what Shaggy said. The OP typed in a phrase and it was copied in the second text box.
So...

Because your post wasn't a VB.NET question and didn't really have anything to do with VB.NET.

It's a trap because this thread is a time waster, not to mention your youtube videos. I wanted to warn others before they got sucked in like I did.

Re: artificial intelligence
LOL. If that's AI it has an IQ of 20. You type in "hi" and it replies "I'm fine". That's some funny funny stuff.
It just replies some predefined sentences that you pre-programmed. The proof of it is when you mistype "How are [y]ou", it doesn't reply anything. If it was at all intelligent it would have known what you meant to say. After that when you type correctly it replies.
Also, from someone capable of programming a good AI I would expect at least some basic GUI design.

Re: artificial intelligence
you think intelligence is mostly about grammer and spelling.
lets take the word ima for example it could mean now or mother in some languages, it could be
a secret code it could be a miss type of imagine. the fact is not all sentences repeated in the order of input.

Re: artificial intelligence
Who says I'm American? Also, in which language does "hi" mean "how are you?" so that the AI would reply "I'm fine"? Why do I have the feeling that your code is basically a bunch of If...Then blocks (or Select Case if you're more advanced at coding).

when someone says hi he will probably be replaid how are you.
the older she gets the more accuret replayes.
therefore she must have known i was going to ask her how she was and like some people do
she went ahead and said she is fine.

Re: artificial intelligence
Yes but you're software doesn't reply with "how are you" it replies with "I'm fine" as if it was asked how it was, instead of just greeted with hi. Maybe it's so smart that it anticipated that you wanted to ask it how it was and it replied in advance.

Are you asking us to speculate?
Everything that has a computer in will fail. Everything in your life, from a watch to a car to, you know, a radio, to an iPhone, it will fail if it has a computer in it. They should kill the people who made those things.- 'Woz'

Re: artificial intelligence
To me a true AI is something that starts at zero (no preset concepts, nothing hard-coded).
The whole point of AI is learning, learning how to learn, how to "get" more information in, to link everything (make connections) of what it has learned.
If you make a program where you just have some if & else cases, with some random responses (or responses by frequency), then it's just that... a program... nothing even related to AI.
An AI would be an algorithm / a formula that takes the information that you put in it, and tries to make sense of it, regardless of what type of information it is.
If I were to make an AI (even though I did not study anything related to this, so I could be totally wrong), I would start by hard-coding the part on "how" to learn, and "how" to organize and store the information. But with no information pre-built in it.

Re: artificial intelligence
I disagree with that approach, too. The system should figure out how to learn. The AI that I was working on (and will be again, in a few months) was based on a large GA. It took in a variety of inputs, but the genes dictated what information it paid attention to, and how much attention was paid to different things. There will end up being many thousands of genes. So how does it learn? It dreams. Each dream is a virtual world that may or may not be based on anything the bot had encountered in the real world. Each dream may have an objective, or a length of time, or something else, and the performance of the bot in that dream will be based on a variety of relevant factors. Over time, it will determine which inputs are important in which situations, how to properly evaluate them, and how to respond. On the other hand, the bot will be doing nothing more than prowling around the house mapping things....and spending lots of time charging.....hmmmm, I think I will have invented a cat.

Re: artificial intelligence
I see no possible AI featured in the two videos that I viewed. The first was a strange program that could have been written by a first year programming student that was not familiar with English as a First Language, and the second one showed a young man rambling on about things that did not seem to make much sense to me, before he started playing with two children's doll toys.
I am very sorry, but I have to agree that this has been a monumental waste of time.

Ok, so we have these six combinations
Human girlfriend... ok
Human soldier... ok
Animal girlfriend... good news for folks into bestiality I guess.
Animal soldier... Pentagon might be interested in this.
Human-animal girlfriend... maybe for guys into science fiction and role play.
Human-animal soldier... Now this has the most potential. Resident Evil all the way!

My guess is that he was waiting for someone to say yes, and then come back with a shocker by letting us know that all this time we were chatting with his AI software. If that's true it was definitely in "girlfriend" mode (blonde subclass). Though I would've expected a decent dinner, or at least to fetch me a beer.
But be warned, our faces will surely be red when he wins the nobel prize.

I love this thread!
Anyhow i will briefly get you out of the mood and into the nerd stuff.
Do you think F# would be a better language for AI ?
There is a class on the University (at least i had one) that is called AI or something similar.I remember drawn bubbles on the board with data that will move you to another bubble etc etc.Anyway there was a whole lotta info but i guess i hated the fact that a pentium coulb be smarter than i am (that is very easy ) and i just did the classic - memorize, write the test and then forget everything. But it was years ago.
