NOt looking for VB code just help on MSIE
When I use C:\MYfolder\Mypage.htm as a default open page the browser inserts a Http:\\ in front of it and as a result I can't open it.
Where does it come from..how do I stop it.
I know you can because my home broswer doesn't do it.

not sure why you are posting here...
anyway put file:// in front of the path to tell it that the resource is not on the internet
example:
file://c:\MyFolder\MyPage.htm

I did that earlier..it just puts an http:\\in front of the file:\\\c:\myfolder\myfile.htm
The reason I'm asking here is bcause programmers in VB have experience in MSIE as well and I need an answer as it's beyond me where it is coming from.

Well I just tried it and this is what I have in the Internet Options as homepage:
file:///C:/Folder/file.htm
I have IE5 too so I have no idea why it wouldn't work for you.
If it doesn't work, maybe try a forum geared to this, like the Win98 forum at http://www.theosforum.com or http://www.virtualdr.com

are you using win95 or 98?
In 98, IE is integrated into the OS, but in 95 it is more independent.
Maybe 95 has some issue with showing local files as the homepage... (but I've never experienced any such thing)

Also too, not that this is your problem, but If your using I.E. 5 on a version of 95 that is the old version, it will not work correctly either. The old version of 95 is a 16-Bit APP only. Where as the Newer versions of 95 were 32 Bit. And I.E. 4.0+ are 32 Bit apps. The old version of 95 comes with 3.02 of I.E. So make sure as to which version you are using.. Remember, there are 5 different versions of Windows 95, I have had them all.. : :
