    Problem with Combo box

    I am making a combo box drop down list.It has a large number of objects so it has been a vertical scroll bar.The problem arises when i click at the arrow and if there is not sufficient place for the combo box list to display itself on the either side it is unable to hold itself.it exits as long as i keep the mouse button down but as soon as i release it disappears.but if i click on the text it is able to adjust accordingly on both the sides of the combo box and i can freely select what option i want.Can any one tell me why is this happening?
