I am amazed that I am the one to say this but I think all religious discussions should be banned from VB-World. All it does is upset and offend those involved. So who is for it?

I'm trying not to respond to religious threads, mostly
because I'm bored with them. As long as the discussion is
not getting personal, no one should be offended.
Of course, some of the threads have tripped the light
fantasitic with the personal.....

i agree
yesterday i was soooooooooo bored with trinity
i never EVER wanna discuss it again
i think religion is a facinating thing
because of how people believe in things that cant be explained and discussing these matter is very interesting as well but sometimes it goes overboard
but long live religious threads, at least gives us something to think about other than vb

I think me and kovan are back on track. I just don't like the fact that one person come and corrects anothers faith based on there own and say the other one is false. I do my best not to do that to others which was really tough with genx but then again he took everything that way anyway so I probably should have.

Yes, Kovan, there is a Finnish native religion. It's holy
work is the Finno-Urgic Myth cycle of the Kavelala. It's
full of names that noone except Finns and Hungarians can
pronounce.
Quite beautiful, actually.

Kovan -- You're showing a certain lack of linguistic
sophistication. Finnish, Basque, and Hungarian are
languages unrelated to any other on Earth....including each
other.
Finnish contains sounds not found anywhere else.

No more jdavison threads
....lol.....
kovan
Yes l think jdavison gets a little intense with the religous thing. But its fun baiting him.
Need help in settling an arguement from you. Caren't remember the name, but it's a religous order of christian monks who gave Mohammed..(sorry about spelling)...shelter. Somewhere in the middle east.....l think the country is Iran, but Phantomd reckons its Iraq...of course we could both be wrong and its Egypt.
jdavison
If you don't like the views expressed in religous threads then don't go into them. Clearly you are calling for censorship here, which is about what l would expect.

I am 194 and the Finnish religion is the belief in that the holy fish created and destroyed universe.
Actuall i'm just 20 and i think the most common religion is protestantic one. I'm not sure about the Finno-Urgic Myths, since i don't remember nothing of them.

OK, so I got a bit uptight yesterday...
My wife tells me I was being a bit pompous anyway (and she is usually right, just ask her), but the twins smiled yesterday at nine weeks old, so I am in amuch better mood today. Roll on, controversy....

I have no problem viewing the religous views of other. What I don't like is when they get to the point were they are a supperiority issue. Kovan you even admitted you were getting out of control on the thread. I was not attempting to debate with him, I was simply trying to understand his faith more. What I kept getting is you don't understand true islam, go read the quran. which is nice if you can pick on up at any coner bookstore but you can't. Even then it would take me forever to read. All I kept hearing is you don't understand, you don't know hat you are talking about, go read the book. I wanted to understand yet he didn't want me to try to. From what I have seem and read it all seemed alittle flakey which is why I was asking questions. This has been the case the whole time with these discussions and i think they should just stop because the are unproductive.

Only politics and arrogant, superiority complexes. I am generally ok with religious discussions when people are willing to listen and be reasonable. But unfortunately most of the people that get involved are not and the I get irritated. I know I am not the only one that has seen this. And Jethro you are probably the worst basher of religion here(since Gen-X is missing) so of course it nice for you to say I get carried away. But then again it always is when its somebody who has strong beliefs, dedication, and moral values in the world.
