In a nutshell: databases don't use anything - it's the front end that needs some library to interface DB...
Anyway, can you ellaborate on what type of DBs do you have plus some other detais. Thanks.

Both the database is access db, 1 is 97 and the other is in 2000 format. I need to link the fields from the 2000 access db to the 97 db. There are 2 fields required, the serial number and value. In both the database, there is a field for serial number (eg. 5216R), and for each serial number there will be a value (eg. 35). I have to match the serial number from one db to another and transfer the value into the other db. Please advice...

Open up the database you are going to create the link in.

From the tables section, right mouse click, and click Link Tables.

A dialog will pop up asking where the database is you what to link to.

Find the other database and select it.

After selecting it, a list of all the tables in the other database will be presented. Select the tables you wish to link to, and click OK.
