Syntax Highlighting
I'm working on a small IDE, well visual front end and project manager for the MinGW compiler. I have all the compiler stuff sorted but me and my friend have been talking about the best way to do Syntax Highlighting.
Now we discussed several ways but the problem is we can't come to a decision on which is the best or even how to start programming them.
I just wanted to know if anybody could give any ideas or even tell me how to start the code off. I just generally need something solid to work off really.
Thanks, Brad.

Re: Syntax Highlighting
Heres some other threads on this idea:

This site also has an OCX avalible for syntax highlighting:

This was also another pretty good example. This would change a word to its full meaning (acronyms and such) as well as highlight the word after. Im sure you could change it a bit to get it to just highlight a word.

search this forum and Google. you will get many examples.
