what i mean to say is, what would i need to enable a VB app to directly access a remote computer and send and recieve data, in a similar fashion to p2p file sharing? i need to do this because i want to test an idea for a neural network that uses p2p clients as neurons. any ideas would be appreciated, -Avi

Yes, it's possible. How do you want to create it? Does each computer know which other it's connecting to? I don't know much about Neurons and AI. But i know enough about Winsock in VB to get me by. Winsock is what most people use when making a program communicate over LANs or WANs when programming in VB.
